Hi all!
i have just received a phoenix a380 in house colours. i've always wanted a phoenix version due to:
1. IMO better cockpit window printing shape and size
2. landing gear positioning (body mounted gears a bit too far back compared to the wing mounted gears on the JC mould)
3. the phoenix version is the only 1:200 a380 i know that replicates the magnificent curve of the wing flaps/trailing edge well, as others such as JC have this trailing edge more straight then curved.

phoenix a380 weight - 1661grams
jc a380 weight- 1720grams

i will let the photos speak for themselves.
the malaysia airlines a380 9m-mnf is the JC wings version
the house livery a380 f-wwow 10th china airshow is the phoenox version.

2 problems with the phoenix version
- landing gear wheels a bit too big
- nose wheel a tad bit long

all in all am very happy with the phoenix version, always thought that phoenix models were always slightly behind in terms of fine detailing, printing and landing gears vs the jc version, but i thought wrong!
in the end, there is no perfect mould. they all have their pros and cons. if you really are a fan of the a380, just get both versions!

my other issue with the model is the stand. its so flimsy and cheap feeling, i cant confidently leave me model on the stand for 5 minutes without fear of it collapsing

really love hogan's rendition too. have one too. just dont like how tiny hogan prints their cockpit windows. there was only 1, think special release SIA A380 hogan did that had accurately sized printed cockpit windows...it looked like the perfect a380. unfortunately i cant seem to find that particular limited release

Nice review thanks Jetdin, you've answered a few questions for me.

My A380 fleet is all GJ200 & JCW and I only have one I'm still looking for to complete my collection.... so if you get tired of your Malaysian please let me know!
