Default Gemini 747 question????

Hi all,

I received a copy of the latest BA 747-400 by Gemini, I have scaled back my buying and collecting but thought this was a must have……… however I am disappointed.
The reason is detail, or should I say the missing details. We have a printed top beacon and printed inner wing lights. My JC Oneworld BA 747 and Virgin Ruby Tuesday 747 all have jewels.
My question is why, Why are we being given Interactive models and models with extended flaps in the pursuit of realism when at the same point other things which add realism are being removed?
I am not not being adversarial or disrespectful towards Gemini, I am just very interested. I can’t be the only one who feels this way.

I noticed this about my GJ VS 744 "Tinker Bell," though the FLG jewel is still being done.

I'm surprised CV hasn't answered your question.

I have no idea what goes on at the factory or their thought process..Im sure with the surge in production costs maybe done as a cost saving move.

That's kinda what I suspected. In a way, I'm glad the jewels aren't being used. Just something else for the glue to dry out on and have it fall off and disappear forever!!

Cost savings do not match increasing product prices, of course. Therefore, this is a weak argument in general.

However, I don’t like the jewels in each and every detailed feature. Of course, they are quite attractive as beacons and landing gear lights, but the are not as landing lights at the wing root (since the real ones aren’t prominent, but this is difficult to achieve with the jewels on scale models).

Of course it is. I just wanted to get that reaction from an expert with over 40 years of collecting experience.

OP, you should have specified the male version when ordering and you would have gotten the release with the jewels!

You’re welcome. More than 40 years right now, to be honest.

It's probably because the Gemini BA 747 was made well before the new JC ones. Just a thought.
