Thumbs up Inflight200 Boeing B757-200 AA (IF752AA0221P)

Gentlemen,

The long awaited American Airlines Boeing 757-200 has landed safely in my hub.

Overall it's a beautiful model, with fine details, however the radome shape is a bit questionable. It looks a bit 'pointy' to me.

Enjoy these pictures.

Congrats with this new acquisition my friend !
I adore this bare metal AA livery, which served as a design for the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, and therefore became very iconic.
I also received this model about 2 weeks ago. Do you mind I share some of my pics in this thread?

Cheers, Deephalo

Love it mate. Congratulations on getting a model to land in Australia in the current situation. Well worth the wait. Great stuff.

Nice photos - thanks for sharing. I agree that the nose looks peculiar.

Excellent pictures Deephalo…thank you.
From the angle of your photos, the radome shape looks fine.
Maybe I need to look at it from the angle shown in your pictures…

Your photos are amazing, can't wait for mine to arrive!
I do agree the nose looks a little "pointy", but not a big issue with me.

Great looking model! First set of photos had me concerned that all of the light gray areas looked almost white, especially the engine cowlings. But then deephalo's photos confirmed that it's painted the correct gray. The lighting in the photos can really distort how a model should look sometimes!

Everyone's already got theirs, but my order for this model still shows it's pending! I hope they didn't run out!

Yes I wanted to say the same. From most angles I think everything is very OK. Thx for the compliments.

Thank you. The interesting thing about colors is that they actually do not exists. It is just our brains interpreting electromagnetic radiation at a certain wavelength, and even this interpretation is different from person to person. Therefore, some discussions earlier on this forum (not this one) amused me a lot.

Cheers, Deephalo

It does look 'tail sitting', that's because the nose gear is a bit too long

Here's a nose shape comparison with the actual aircraft...
Quite a few noticeable differences, wouldn't you say

The nose gear comparison photos is slightly unfair in that the real plane is rotating so the gear is extended. I've found a photo showing the gear on the ground (not the same 757 though). I think the model's gear looks better when compared to the real gear on the ground.

On a separate but related note, my worry generally regarding the nose gears of the 757 models is that they "appear" to be angled too far back - any thoughts on this? And any thoughts on the Gemini mould vs Inflight .... I'm thinking about getting the Gemini Ohio red and blue 757 ... anyone with photos of this model and willing to share would be great.
