Arrow 1:200 Boeing 747 Thread - Show Yours

Okay the queen of the skies has been around for decades. Time to create a thread of just 747 photos of YOUR models that you have collected. I will start it off with a Qantas 747 that I got to kick off my collection. Got bunch more on the way.

This will be interesting, got 42 of these dunno how you'd want me to post them though, per B747 or per two?

Alright it was 8 years and 4 months of collecting, for now it is complete as other projects have kind of took it's place, I rebuild retro computers from 20 a 30 years ago and bring them back to life, it's very enjoyable and this will keep me going for some time, plus it's very educate as well.

Anyways what I'll do is post the entire collection in the the displays they are displayed in and from there post two of them and when others have made a post I'll post an other two etc, hope this is okay, as this will help me remember what pair I posted, if that makes any sense

So here the main display, in here are 32 diecast scale 1:200 B747's;

Here the secondary & tertiary displays, other models can also be seen, this is due to the limited space I have to deal with.

So here the first pair:

Boeing 747-438
QANTAS Australia "Wunala Dreaming 01"
VH-OJB "City of Sydney"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

-------------------------------------
Boeing 747-238B
QANTAS Australia "Spirit of Australia Livery 1987-2000"
VH-EBQ "City of Bunbury"
Scale 1:200
Inflight 200

Limited Edition 1 of 240pcs

Every B747 collection is serious, left alone every model collection is, no one would collect for no reason.
The size should not decide that, that is rather not of relevance imo That would make a topic like thus utterly pointless now wouldn't it?

We all have the same interest and that is what matters most, there are members in my Boeing 747 Community that had over 1000+ flights in B747's and this is far more costly than the models we have instead, some are so dedicated they seek up any PAX B747 that is still flying and book flights on those.

And then there are the pilots, flight crew as well as maintenance employee's from several carriers, Museum owners like the owner of the Pan Am Museum Foundation for example, they are a great friend and have been part of my community for many years now.

All of these people share their stories and experiences, the designer of the B747SP, Gene F. himself also taught as many interesting pieces of knowledge no ordinary person would tell us, all in all I met some great B747 related people, alongside the B747 model collectors that being.

Also I remember we have a member here at DA.C that has over 800 B747 models, not sure if they are still around though, might be interesting to see if they found any new ones they didn't have yet.

And that lead to me collecting B747's mainly from ones I flown with as well as friends & Family flown with as well as worked with or on, all per registration as well, it was quite the struggle, but well worth doing, being 100% disabled did limit me a lot from many things, in the end I never gave up, if I wanted something no matter it's rarity I made sure I got it even for a decent price as well, kind of glad that is all but behind now.

Anyways enough of me rambling on there< here an other two from my main display:

Boeing 747-338
QANTAS Australia "Nalanji Dreaming"
VH-EBU "City of Warnambool"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

-------------------------------------
Boeing 747SP-38
QANTAS Australia "Ochre Livery 1975-1987" (B747SP)
VH-EAA "City of Gold Coast - Tweed"
Scale 1:200
Inflight 200

Limited Edition 1 of 312pcs

Nice!

I have 19 of them.
Just go to https://www.janpolet.nl/model-aircraft-database/ and type "747" in the search field.

I love them all.

This one is beautiful and special to me.
I walked underneath this aircraft in a hangar.
It was impressive.

When I saw the model, with the exact same registration, I had to have it.

Later, it turned out that a DVD with a flight deck experience I own, featured this aircraft as well. Just with the older livery.

I do have a picture from a while back, when I had 16 747 models.
Missing in that picture are a British Airways 744, an Air France 744 and the Boeing 747 prototype with all the airline logos.

To start, here is PIA's AP-BFX "Green Turtle Waters".

I flew with it back in 2008, it was one of her last flights, from Islamabad over Karachi to Manchester.
She was one of the planes provided with a tail design representing one of Pakistan's provinces.
Unfortunately, she was eventually scrapped near Karachi airport, where many of her remains can still be found.

The 1/200 scale Inflight200 model is not easy to find. Only 180 or so have been produced if I remember well.
I am happy I was able to find one on Ebay about 1,5 years ago.

The thread about this beauty, which incorrectly refers to "Blue" Turtle Waters in the title, can be found here.

Did share my KLM 747 fleet in May last year.
In the meantime it consists of 15 models. Not likely this number will get any bigger....

Nice Virgin Atlantic B747-41R there, the G-VXLG "Ruby Tuesday"

Here an other pair from my set:

Boeing 747-312 (Ex-Singapore Airlines B747-312)
Ansett Australia Limited "Sydney 2000 01"
VH-INJ "Official Airline of the 2000 Olympic Games"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings / BBOX Models

------------------------------------
Boeing 747-412 (Ex-Singapore Airlines B747-412)
Ansett Australia Limited "Sydney 2000 02"
VH-ANA "Official Airline of the 2000 Olympic Games"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings / BBOX Models

Hope to see more beauties from you guys, as Ansett goes I'll always miss them

To me they were to me the best Australian Airline ever, fantastic customer service, such a shame no one was there to save them, Bought these two as I love them as a set and to the memorable Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, watched that live on TV here in Netherlands, I remember seeing these planes as well, I was like gotta get those at scale 1:72 hah my room was like 3 times the size I have now, but to have them in diecast Metal from JC Wings @ 1:200 I could not ask for anything better

hi all!
i only have 4 747s in my collection so far. this is the hibiscus MAS 747, the IF200 version, 9m-mpd. Got a ride on one back in 2005, too young at the time to notice wether it was 9m-mpd or 9m-mpb.

Here are my 74's. I started off with that AirBridgeCargo 748F and the rest followed in a 14 month timeframe

Been mainly focussing on KLM models, but with currently 25 of them and almost owning one of every aircraft type they operate, it's time to expand the Cargo collection.
Ofcourse I will always have an eye out for KLM models. Especially MD11's and the KLM Cargo's

I have a few 747's as well but I like these two:

The TWA 747 was my first 1/200 diecast model.

And the Gemini version of the Delta 747-400

G'day Ned, good to see another Kiwi collector with the collecting bug

No idea how many 1:200 747's I have although I've moved a handful on in the past months and may look to cull a few more. I've 'super-sized' and moved on to collecting 1:200 diecast A380's instead

Thought you'd appreciate this one, my 3 Air NZ Herpa Premium 744's are my pride and joy and the detailing is just sublime.

Used to fly on the Flying Tigers 747 between NZ and LAX back when I was a teenager working in the horse racing industry.

That is beautiful. Are those windows actually see-through? Or is the photo coloring playing tricks on me?

By the way, this thread is very dangerous for me. Most good-looking models presented by other members on this forum ends up somehow being added to my collection eventually, and removing weight from my wallet

Yes, I was wondering the same re the see through windows; looks wonderful with them!

No idea how many 1:200 747's I have although I've moved a handful on in the past months and may look to cull a few more. I've 'super-sized' and moved on to collecting 1:200 diecast A380's instead

Thought you'd appreciate this one, my 3 Air NZ Herpa Premium 744's are my pride and joy and the detailing is just sublime.

herpa premium 747s...probably the best 747 1:200 scale models ever! cant find them anywhere haha

So I did try to post the picture (which is a picture of my models) directly here but it wouldn't work so I posted a link to it. Since it is your thread, go ahead and delete my post if I am in violation of any rules here.. (I don't think I am violating any rules because obviously there is a provision to post links.)

Have a nice day!

Hey many thanks man, it's that I have five friends that worked for SAA on these exact aircraft for the SAA Boeing 747 Maintenance team from 1971 to 1994.
they are also members of my Boeing 747 Community at Facebook,, I basically bought these in respect to them and they loved them, these classic liveries Bandit Livery of Magalisberg & Springbok Livery of Kempton Park gave them very valuable memories from the golden age of the Boeing 747 for the SAA fleet.

Hey nice collection there man There are some great liveries in there too!

And understandable not everyone can do basic HTML for posting images with thumb nails leading to the main picture, but if you need help with that, feel free to DM me
But I too can just post the picture for you, here you go:

Here I made a guide explaining how it can be done by using basic HTML code

Hope that helps

Very epic livery as well, even it's simple it has lots of style and meaning as with many classic B747's from the 1970's era, a very epic model man

The SAA ones are special - used to travel on them years ago from NZ to South Africa frequently.

But I solved the issue I can do basic HTML thankfully, as i have been using it for 20+ years now.
Plus being an official game tester for several projects, I did happen to have learned on how to use Basic HTML from actual game developers myself.
And I don't see the problem by aiding others than really have no clue on how.

Even that this forum has a photo upload system, some don't even know how to use that as well, no need to get angry at those that don't know, that isn't fair.

The Delta 747's only lasted for a few years, and these models disappeared almost as quickly!

Well seems I got lucky then I bought mine from Arcunia earlier this year, they still had one new in old stock, N9896 was Delta's first B747 btw.

I think it was by 1977 they went out of service and flying DC-10's & B767's as their main wide bodies, until the overtake of North West Airlines and flew their B747-451's from 2008 to 2017 when Their B747-451's went out of service.

Here a nice article About Delta's B747's
https://www.deltamuseum.org/exhibits...jet/boeing-747

And this pdf file shows you the interior of these classic Delta B747-132's from 1970 the upper deck was divided in to two area's a Lounge and a Pent House:
https://www.deltamuseum.org/docs/sit...e.pdf?sfvrsn=2

Here a photo of the first Detla B747-132 rollout, the N9896:

Was shooting some of my 1/400 models, and among the very few boxes with 1/200 stuff discovered my old

Lufthansa 747-430 D-ABVP
Inflight200 IF744004
released 2007

and took it out to snap some pics. Not sure when, where, why and for how much I got it back when it was released. But I always liked it once I took it out of its box. I know I have quite a graveyard with some IF200 parts lying around somewhere, but should also have one or the other intact 747 still in their boxes. Might take some pictures once I find them.

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
