Default AN-225 Landed

Went to ARD's this morning, as I like to visit once every other week or so, to see if any of my Pre orders are in, and of course a chat, and a cup of tea, with fellow collectors that were in there, nothing new that I was waiting for had come in, so I thought good save some pennies, I was there for about an hour, then time to come home, as I walked out of the door something caught my eye in the window, the antonov AN-225, now I have wanted one of these to add to my collection, I know there is quite a few on Ebay but I will not pay out silly money that they are asking, so I asked Paul how much it was selling for, he said it had not been in long and he had not taken a picture of it, to advertise it on his web so he took some pictures then went to find the price, with my 10% discount it worked out £249 GBP, now some of you will say that is still a lot of money, but compared to Ebay, and what other people are asking, for me it was cheap, its made in hard resin with the landing gear down, and comes under the brand Big *** Models, and being a Big *** model I only managed to get one picture of it, sorry if it is a bit blurred but at my age its hard to keep a steady hand.

Nice profile picture, which emphasises the beautiful line of this huge aircraft.
Congratulations on your acquisition and thank you for sharing the nice story that preceded it.

Steve. i remember WAFFLE had these listed as big *** models. but they were in fact PCM models which ARD had a few years ago. the price then was only £79.95! less 10%. i know that because i got one along with the AN124. Managed to find some old pics! and i thought Paul said they were supposed to be getting some more along with the galaxy c-5 over 2 years ago. that was till herpa announced their galaxy!

Herpa have still failed to release this in 1/400 scale with the Buran shuttle. A complete missed opportunity!

ARD are now showing AN124, 225, + 225 BURAN as pre-order on site. ARD original price on this around 10-12 years ago was just £79.95! less 10% if club member. But AIRHUB store in Russia is cheaper.
