Excellent choice as a subject, really happy to see all the new prototypes on show by Gemini. They are going to fill some big gaps in many collections. Thanks in advance!

Lucky 1/200 collectors... Would be nice to see one in 1/400, probably too small though.
Maybe some 3D printed examples would be nice.

It would be like 1.5 inches long. Way too small for collectors and any details in 1:400.

Fantastic new tooling. Now let me count the VH registered aircraft starting with Qantas, Australian Airlines, TAA, Ansett, Royal Australian Air Force, Australian army and more. 77 was my count on Aussieairliners.org ------> DHC-6 Twin Otter

That's why I said I'd probably have to resort to 3D printing...
You'd be amazed at what a 3D printer can do nowadays.

What an exiting release, as others have said, did not see that coming!

As for future release suggestions, how about one of the most famous twotters in recent history, and the rescue of two doctors at the south pole in the middle of winter in 2016.

No such thing as Royal Australian Army. But I'd take one in Australian Army or RCAF colours. Pity it is not in 1/72. Could build on the C172 previously produced with a line of de Havilland (DHC-2,3 and 6), Cessna series up to Grand Caravans, King Airs, PC-12s, Learjets etc. You'd think they'd be perfect in 1/72...

Not Graigme or myself ever mentioned Royal Australian Army. There is a comma after Royal Australian Air Force, followed by Australian Army. Anyhow for me many great subjects to choose from. The Twin otters that served down under went through several liveries as well so you can double that 77 figure above

You’ll notice the RCAF Twin Otters do not say Rescue on them. They did back in the CAF days, but their current primary role is to “provide support to the Canadian Forces” including the Rangers and Air Cadets. Apparently, SAR is their secondary role… but I live in Yellowknife and I have never seen them deployed as such. They almost always bring up a Herc for SAR here. I would love to see an RCAF Twin Otter all the same. It would also be great to see a CAF SAR version or even an RCMP version. The Kenn Borek Twins are the true legends though. Harbour Air too.

Fantastic aircraft! I do agree with Airlineguy, I would love to see a WINAIR livery! I for sure would go for the current livery, but also the (in my eyes classic) 'Dutch tricolor' will bring back memories of serval trips to the shortest runway on earth at Saba island.

Departing from the just 400m long runway at Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport, it is less than a 15 minute flight to St. Maarten. Approaching the airport via the most famous beach for airplane lovers; Maho Bay. What a combination: The sun, the white sand, turquoise see, a cold beer and Twin-Otters all over the place.

cheers, VJ

Those are -100 series Twin Otters. The mold that was shown is, I think, a -300 series. The nose on the -100 is shorter and more rounded. If they ever do that I'd want one in Pilgrim Airlines. My butt was in those Pilgrim Otters many times!

The shorter, blunt-nosed versions are -100 series Twin Otters. Hope they make those too!

I heard that some releases may be as twin-packs.

The British Airways 727 3-pack in 1/4oo, and the Saint Martin set in 1/400 too..can't remember the year of release. Probably ten plus years ago.

I remember the Delta 727 3-pack, as well as the America West and Alaska Airlines 2-packs. Still have all three of them. But definitely a decade plus ago at least.

Not entirely true. The long nose was an option from the -200 up for those who wanted a little more cargo space in the nose. It was a little heavier, but offered more luggage capacity. The -200 long nose wasn’t certified on floats though. I’m not certain if the -300 was either, but the -400 was. Many -200 and -300 Twotters also have short noses.
