definitely a SCAM! $40 SHIPPED for a 1/200 model??? REALLY? .get these all the time. new seller sells a few models normally (probably bought by friends) to look legit. then lists loads cheap to scam people. EVERY single time this has happened, goods arrive weeks later or never arrive. or you get something different and cheap. of course these could be stolen goods. priced to get rid cheap. but i have YET to see anyone actually GET their model.

There are lots of things that don't make sense.

1. On the seller's profile, it says he's based in the united states, but on the buying page,
it says hong kong.

2. Lots of his feedback is from the same day and pretty much says the same thing.

Ebay will refund your money eventually. check out this thread on MH3 where another seller listed a load of HOBBYMASTER fighter jets models dirt cheap with free shipping. this is what one guy got instead of a model. you will probably get similar. seller was banned. so expect to see his listings and account suddenly disappear.

https://modelhangar3.com/thread/1657...ls-ebay?page=2

as the saying goes 'if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. dirt cheap prices and free overseas post is a dead giveaway!

! well as i said would happen earlier ALL HIS LISTINGS HAVE BEEN REMOVED!! apparently 'sold' 30 cargolux. 22 klm md11's. and 9 sia a350's of the ones i was watching. so 61 x average $40 total $2440.00. that's just on the 3 i was watching. so estimate $7000.00 + easily with the rest!

Interesting thing is the seller has responded to me and another buyer who lives in California whose tracking number shows his order going to Illinois. In both correspondances the seller says its a glitch on the website and confirmed that they were sent off correctly. The "too good to be true" saga continues. Stay tuned...

This seems to be a popular new (to me) scam. I had the exact same thing happen with a test order on a different site -- site which disappeared yesterday.

Is that one of those sites that has been popping up everywhere lately?
All the sites have a big label 'free shipping over $40' and have the same 'about us' section that starts off with 'We are proud of the quality and consistency of the product and service provided to our customers', they also have FB/instagram ect logos that don't link to any page. These sites show up mostly when google searching for a particular model.

Also they have long sold out models like quarter of the normal price. plus have 50+ available!! they also have postage by BESTWAY at silly $10 or less. plus when you add a widebody to basket, it comes up................0.5k usually. and stays the same if you add more! the other dead giveaway on the description its 'copied and pasted' from an EBAY LISTING! plus the security certificate for the site is new and only valid a few months! so BE WARNED!!

I guess they just buy postage to US (or other countries) to be able to post a tracking number or they send stuff (non plane related) to friends or businesses using their profits from bogus plane auctions and post those tracking numbers to Ebay!?

Im not saying that the following is the case but it can be a likely thing, These sellers might be shipping to a regional warehouse where they send lots of stuff in bulk and then it is handed over to a local postal service or delivery company which is the final mile delivery company, The last 3 years have seen me order many things through Chinese sellers and some of this stuff gets shipped to an American warehouse before it arrives at my door, and in many cases, there is no hint of it being an international shipment, as in no customs stickers or even Chinese postage, it will have usually have USPS labels.

well if that is the case, sellers should SAY SO in their listings! simples. but this is, like all others A SCAM!

UPDATE: the parcel has arrived in Los Angeles. Its actually beating 2 other orders from established ebay sellers I bought from a week earlier which still show transiting China. So what will it be? a set of earphones? a toothbrush?
maybe a Xanadu DVD featuring Olivia Newton John... cant wait to see!

ebay feedback scores from the last month are starting to come in.. some bad stating fraudulent seller and a few good ones too..separately in an ebay message to me from seller when asked, Seller states that items are shipped to a distribution center in US and then dispatched from there that is why the shipping zip codes dont match destination zip codes. Let the games continue!

That delivery message was word for word the one I received on a phantom delivery. When I checked with the post office with the track number, they said it was delivered to an address 10 miles away. Crownvic has me beat with the 200 miles.

So this appears to be a standard scam of late...

We all knew going in it was never going to happen, most of us including 3 associates of mine more or less did it as a joke knowing we would get a refund.
My credit card company already said the credit is on the way.

Yes, fun is good when there is no risk, nothing to loose, just a bit of fun to have!

…and to prove it‘s still scam. ;-) As you said, no risk. Otherwise one shouldn’t contest such fairytale offerings. i
