Default New arrival joins my SIA Fleet!

After a week of (im)patiently waiting, this new A350-900 has finally landed and is a great addition to my Singapore Airlines fleet.

Airline: Singapore Airlines
Aircraft: Airbus A350-900
Manufacturer and Scale: Hogan Wings 1/200

This was purchased from KrisShop during the mid-year sale at the advertised = price of only S$62.30 (normally S$85) + S$28 shipping, but because I had KrisFlyer miles expiring and am not planning to fly anytime soon, I redeemed all of my miles and the total I paid for this model, including shipping, was only S$35!

This A350 goes great with the rest of my SIA fleet of A380 and B777-300ER!

I'm not sure why Hogan would leave out the registration? Nice SQ fleet.

Probably to save on fee? It's still a very nice model. I have a lot of hogan stuffs myself. I am all for removable gears and taking less storage space

If the model was commissioned by SQ, it could've been at their request. I remember some KLM models were produced without registration in the earlier days of 1:200 scale collecting. If I'm recalling correctly, KLM didn't want registration numbers on models in the event there was ever a fatal accident of a particular airframe. They didn't want models of it floating around. I've no idea if this is true.

Congrats on the model! I wish HG would produce models of Virgin aircraft. The only one I know of is a 789 and that wasn't for retail sale.

So does that mean we have no klm model for the tenerife 747? Then again i have several other klm models in 1/200 and various other scale that does have reg number

well, i got malaysia -MRO so i guess malaysia doesn't care or as supertitious?

Beautifull model. Congrats on your acquisition.
The Singapore Airlines livery looks so good on an A350. I never paid attention to this but as I look at your pictures I'm happy to see that hogan did not choose to go for inflight (bend) wings, as they do with the 787. In this case, you have also the option to display it "on ground". May I suggest something? I would buy the separate Hogan display stand (it is made of wood and metal) to put underneath. Your model will be so much more beautiful with it. I have equipped all my Hogans with it and haven't regretted this investment for a second.

That's a question I also had when I received a Avianca B787 from hogan as a present about a year ago.

Interesting assumption. I can see some logic in that, especially when you see the astronomical prices being asked (and apparently paid) for, say, 9M-MRO (Malaysia Airlines Flight 370) or HB-IWF (Siwissair Flight 111). At least that is what I have seen in the past...

I don't recall where I read it. It was either on here or on another aviation website. There are also some KLM models that have fake registrations. Obviously, there are now hundreds of KLM models with correct registrations. And there are also HG KLM 787 & 350 models with no registration, so who knows? As stated above, maybe SQ simply didn't want a registration on this model if it was commissioned by them.

I have the PPC Martinair Cargo MD-11 (which is horrible by the way but I was too curious) with a fake registration.
Spent hours on planespotters.com and airfleets.net to see where in the lists of Martinair this registration still could be found. Felt like a real idiot...

From what I remember, when KLM requested fake registrations, the registration always ended with the letter "J" (example: PH-xxJ). This applied to all scales and even Hasegawa kits.

I do have Hogan models that came with wooden stands (e.g. Air China 787 and NH Precision models) and they do look good on them! Personally, I tend to keep the stands that the model comes with as it displays the airline logo, aircraft info and/or scale. I do have other models that don't have any printing on the plastic stands at all, and changing them to wooden stands is something I will definitely consider!

Requested by the airline perhaps, even their 787 model (which I'm still on the market for haha) doesn't have registration. But I have a bit of experience with adding decals on models and putting the registration shouldn't be too difficult of a job!
