Default Vickers V-1000

Another addition to my "What If" Collection. Vickers V-1000/VC7. The V-1000 is one of the great "what-ifs" of British aviation, and its cancellation was the topic of considerable debate in the House of Commons.
George Edwards, the Vickers managing director said: "We have handed to the Americans, without a struggle, the entire world market for big jet airliners.

Again, beautifully made by Serheii at ASModels.

Thumbs up Re: Vickers V-1000

To be honest I never heard of this plane/project before

An very interesting story and again one of those where after WWII Britain with their fabulous aircraft industry might could have taken the leadership in the world wide civil aviation.

The only problem were the politicians

Thanks a lot for posting

Very nice model but registration is 707-436 Personally would have gone the classic G-BOAC as models of that era wore

But then the VC10 was born
get this if you can

first time i have seen a 1/200 one of these! i used to have a 1/100 version years ago. made by PAUL BENN, who has a big selection of 1/100 BOAC models. also referred to as a VC7.

He could probably make you one if interested.

I remember reading about this aircraft some time ago, only had sideview drawings so it's interesting to see a 3D version of that aircraft.
A little off topic, but does anyone know why the original Comet didn't have swept back vertical and horizontal stabilizers? It always looked so wrong to just bolt on a DC-6 style empennage with swept main wings.
