Default Facets of Abu Dhabi in different colours

Good evening or morning when ever you tune in to this thread. In this post you will see,

(1) Licensed

A6-BLC CHOOSE USA 787-9 SKU XX2425
A6-BMH GREEN LINER 787-10 SKU XX2432

(2) Plain Orange box releases with plastic aircraft dimensions stat cards

A6-BND Manchester Football Club 787-9 #SKU: EW2789008
A6-BLV Formula 1 787-9 SKU: EW2789002

Etihad was founded in July of 2003. Commenced operations in November of that year. IATA code EY and main hub is Abu Dhabi international. HQ is Khalifa City United Arab Emirates. The "Facets of Abu Dhabi" livery was unveiled on the delivery of Etihad's first A380-800 A6-APA when the airline took delivery of that aircraft on the 29th September 2014 at Airbus Frinkenwerder facility in Hamburg Germany. This design used a colour palette reflected the varying hues of the landscape of the UAE from the darker sands of the Liiva desert to the lighter colours seen in the Northern Emirates. The closest to the original livery you will see here is the Choose USA

Very very nice 👍

Thanks for posting these pictures Steve!

Hard not to collect them as they all could be frequently spotted here at FRA.

I for myself keep looking for the first “Manchester” release from PHOENIX (or was it EAGLE???) of the A330 as I share more memories with it…

I found the colors very light compared to actual aircraft however a must have if flown on. That was a 1:200 if I recall correctly. Was fortunate to fly on A6-EYE. A real beauty.

It's amazing you got all these models. Has every single special livery been released. They all come to Toronto quite often. It will be sad to see the Boeing 777-300ERs go. Have to get the JC 1:200 A6-ETH.

Thanks for sharing

It is a shame to see both their 777-300ER's go and their A380's. Not all has been released, in diecast (Herpa is releasing a plastic 787-9 Choose Italy I believe) There are also two A380's that I know of XX5454 Choose United Kingdom A6-APW and XX2431 A6-APG Choose South Korea.

However, Choose USA XX2425 is part of a three piece set.

XX2318 Choose Saudi Arabia A6-BLI

XX2324 Choose Japan A6-BLK

These are gorgeous. I'm especially fond of the aqua/teal/tan livery. Congrats!

Yes I completely forgot their A380s had these Choose (Country) schemes. Just sad these giants will not be part of the fleet.

I never really understood what these sets mean? Were all these models produced at the same time? Turkish Airlines has something like this with their A330s

Just ordered A6-BLC. It's pretty tough to find a copy in Europe. Now it's sold out! 😉
