WOW!! Inflight came out swinging this month. Too many awesome models to choose from...I'm really loving that Western DC-10. I often recall seeing that bad boy at LAX as a child.

The Denver Ports of Call CV-990 looks so good, as does the Scandinavian 767.

I really must have that Rolls Royce Test Bed though!! The Alitalia will have to make it's way into my collection at some point, as I'm trying to build that fleet. And the TWA just looks gorgeous.

No mercy on the wallet!! LOL

Wow LTU 757, I would have never thought we would see one in diecast. Hopefully it sells well so we see some more LTU or other 90ies charter carrier releases.

Re: New IF Preorders

I will go for the British Caledonian Airways 747. The previous ARD200/Cleveland relrease was G-HUGE with the grey underside. This proposed release is one of the two ex Wardair 747's they purcgased in 1986 and will have the polished underside.
It would be nice to see a Caledonian 707-320 in the original delivery scheme and the same in the original first British Caledonian scheme, after merger with BUA, the last scheme was already done by inflight200.

Re: New IF Preorders

I'm no expert, but G-GLYN is the only BCAL 747 I can find pictures of with a polished belly, I can't find any pictures of G-NIGB, the other ex Wardair 747 that would have had a polished belly, it appears painted grey at BCAL. So this is a more special release than I thought.

Not my picture, but definitely polished.

The RR test bed is interesting but the test engine seems to be the trent 1000 again like in IF742RR01?

Re: New IF Preorders

seriously consider B/CAL 747. especially polished belly! Got a skymarks BOAC - LANDOR 100TH. shame B.A didn't do a B/CAL 100th.

StillAir 04-30-2021 02:39 PM

B767 VARIG...

Would be perfect if it would be in the later livery as JCWINGS had done this already and that one will be hard to beat

I'm assuming the due date for the Avianca B722 is a typo, and it's release date is November 2021, not November 2020.

Who knows. These dates are all pure fiction anyway.

Nice to see a LTU 757, hope a Transavia is in the works too someday.

Re: New IF Preorders

Etihad have announced that all their 777-3FX ER's are joining their A380's at Mojave death row, so good call from Inflight on this release, but it's not for me. I was kind of hoping GJ would do the RAAF 100 years MRTT first. Anyhow Inflight beat them too it. I wonder if Inflight will ever reduce the main antenna array size on their MRTT's? Anyhow, I will order it. The RAAF P3-C Orion is welcome. As is the second release of the RR test bed aircraft. The LANCHILE was a frequent visitor to Sydney. All these releases will be popular. Great work Inflight

Re: New IF Preorders

Nice set of releases. Bcal 747, TWA, VARIG, Avianca etc. Hard to say which one is the best.

Concerning the VARIG StillAir is right. The VARIG latest colors (landor livery) would be the right choice because no one has ever released it in 1/200 sclale.

Curiosity: a friend told me the charter airline "Ports-of-call" used to sell tour packages to an undisclosed destination and the tourists would know where they were going to only upon landing. Is that true?

Re: New IF Preorders

Does anyone actually expect these to be released within the next 2 years? They have announced so many models with a ridiculously low production ratio in a reasonable period of time...

Ports of Call was the name of the travel club. Denver Ports of Call was the private airline who operated the flights for PoC.

The tour package you are referring to was the annual "Mystery Trip," in which members signed up to be taken on a trip to an unknown destination. This event was so popular, the club would fill multiple B707s with nearly 800 people per trip. (Source: wikipedia)

Indeed. Right now with the unfriendly exchange rate between BRL / USD the most stupid act I should take is to pre order a model without a specific release date. Crossing fingers for a better exchange rate in the near future.

Re: New IF Preorders

Thinking about the two Convairs. I need a twin globe livery in my collection, and the Denver Ports of Call because I'm a Denverite and like to grab airliners with a connection. I have that in 1:400 and it's one of my most prized birds.

Re: New IF Preorders

So true Jan! It is almost criminal how retailers take money with no known date of release! The dates given are a joke and total BS! I reluctantly did a couple of Inflight pre-orders late last year and earlier this year, but never again! Long gone are the days when you knew when to expect something and could deal with Don directly at Jetstreams USA. Can't even get a response for replacement parts anymore!

Aren't some of these re-releases or ones with minor changes to similar ones already released such as TWA 880, Western DC-10, BCAL 747, would be nice if they would release something that hasn't been released already...maybe fullfill 2 year old pre-orders!?

They are just preying on collectors that have a fear of missing out! None of this mass produced crap is rare and can always be found if one puts a little work into searching!

Western is always good news, as is that Trans World CV880

Don is no longer at JetstreamsUSA but I've not had a problem receiving a reply from new management.

I agree with your last sentence, though in many cases a bank account with large sums of money or a credit card with a high credit limit is also required. LOL

I really want the BA L-1011 Landor but I'm not about to pre-order it. I'll wait until it finally sees the light of day.

Re: New IF Preorders

I heard from a nearby retailer that visits him that he is still connected from a distance!

Unless you know where to look and know how to negotiate that can be true if simply giving in to the Ebay craziness!LOL

Yeah I wouldn't be pressured to give in to any pre-order hype! A couple of recent examples: Had I pre-ordered the IF200 TWA 767-300 from one of the many retailers out there I would most likely still be waiting. I checked a retailer in the US that had 2 in stock already and it should be arriving tomorrow according to tracking!

Also Gemini has been good up until last month when I pre-ordered the Eastern 727-100. Retailer sent me a note saying not all fulfillment was made and my order would ship after 21 May! So I found a retailer that had it in stock and according to tracking should also arrive tomorrow. Saw Sky's the Limit has one listed for $129.95 and another Ebay listing for $249.95! No thanks!

There are some very tempting announcements among these, particularly the Denver POC, SAS, TWA and B’Cal ones.

The photo of the Western DC-10 shows a model that was released in 2015. I know IF200 do re-releases but usually they change registration
& the model code. Looks more like a re-stock.

Re: New IF Preorders

Do Inflight200 releases of all the classics (DC-10, 757, CV-990, DC-8, 747 classics) ever had detachable landing gear?

I am pretty happy with re-releases if they come with this feature in 2021. This was a main reason why I ordered both Tristars in Cathay in Dragonair livery and don't touch an Inflight-/(JFox-/WB Models) 747 so far.

Optional landing gear is a relatively new feature in the 1/200 diecast world. The newer IF200 tooling, such as the 757 & 767 have it and now their TriStar
has been re-done. Chances are they may look at their other Classics at some stage.

Ahhhh...so close - I need this livery on an A320 for my "flown-on" collection. Although it's such a great livery and I like A340's a lot I may end up picking this up anyway. I'm with y'all on the pre-orders though anymore - not gonna pony up until I see them hitting the shelves.
