ANA Official Precision Model - JA788A (NH20067)

8 Attachment(s)
Just received this model. Excited to have it and heavy in details, but I blame the recent transition to diecast to feel less excited than when I collected just plastic models. The front had some dark marks which I managed to wipe off and looks like the attachments with the wings inside broke. Also the starboard side has the reg number slightly rubbed off. CAD 220 including shipping and import duties. Got it from the Japanese website shared here recently.

Still over the moon to finally have an ANA model especially since I flew on an ANA Boeing 777-300ER. That however was on JA788A. . Looking forward to the 1:200 JC Wings version when released.

Congrats on your recent arrival! I hope ANA doesn't change their livery anytime soon. Seeing this reminds me of the days when we collected the Hogan versions. Such fun! I've been buying mainly diecast lately but only because I didn't have the choice of buying plastic. I'd love to have an ANA B744 in my collection again, but the Hogan Official models aren't cheap!

Very happy to see you posting photos again! Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks Randy. She's now in her new home 🙃. My photo skills and nowhere close to yours as with the pics posted earlier. Now looking forward to Inflight's ANA Boeing 787-9 (JA888A). Attachment 361020

Nice model! I also have this particular ANA Precision model with the same registration, albeit slightly less detail than yours and the colours of the windows are darker.

Would that be buyee.jp? That's where I normally get my Japanese airline models.

While this thread is being brought to life again, does anyone know anything about "Iwaya Super Sound Air Fleet" ANA models? From what I can see, the models come with a lighted base and I'm assuming the base must play a sound. Jet engines? What are the models like? As nice as ANA Hogans?

Thanks, it is a beautiful model, alas it came broken and the registration on the side was slightly smudged.

And yes it from buyee.jp. It has tons of ANA models and I was lucky to find one at this price. Most are quiet expensive.

There are lots of models on the internet that have Lighting on the inside of the models and probably come with sounds too. They don't look like typical children's toys which have these features but actual models that light up from the inside. Not specifically ANA. And a different scale. Also tempted to get one as they don't look too crude lol

These are push-fit like Hogan & Rise Soon. The issue is, the photos can't be enlarged for viewing. It looks like lights are in the base of the stand on these.

Not to take away from your model as it is quite nice, but I just cant seem to get as excited with these ANA Hogan precision models anymore. Maybe its due to the outrageous prices they command and the fact that most diecast options have lots more details. I have owned about 15 of them back in the day, but just cant pull the trigger anymore. The only exception recently was the ANA 777-900 with folding wing tip. I will be curious to see your feedback on the JC model once you get it and compare the two...

Yes there have been several discussions on those models over the last year or so. I actually went to the factory in 2017 that makes those and I was very impressed with the finish and the moulds too. At that time just a handful of 787 and A380's were being produced and I walked out with a few. Today there are dozens of offerings on ebay from dozens of different sellers. The only real issue is the oddball size. Mostly all are 1/150 but are finished quite nicely. They have also done a 737 in a larger scale too..

I owned quite a few, too! I'm considering a Hogan push-fit 747 because they take up less storage space. I'm currently living in a 10'x50' 1966 mobile home but I'm moving into a shared townhome situation in a few weeks. (Living in London for 6 months each year is my priority, so selling my home and moving into a shared situation is helping me reach my goal.) If a collector is looking for a specific registration number, sometimes Hogan is the only option. There are many more choices of different registration numbers produced by Hogan than in diecast. I suppose if a collector is an ANA fleet builder, Hogan could be a better choice for them, too. But like you, I don't understand the high prices being asked for them - then and now.

I wanted a Virgin 747 (surprise!) but my only nitpick is the black-framed cockpit windows. I had thought about buying one anyway and painting the frames silver, but my eyesight ain't what it used to be!

Some ANA Precision models show up every now and then at a bargain on that site, however if they do I would suggest acting fast as they tend to get snatched pretty quickly. It almost leads me to checking the website almost 24/7 haha.

Talking of light up models, you need to get this beauty if you can find one. ! 1/150 ANA 787. pics don't do it justice!! A usb cable charges up a tiny battery inside. you tap model, or make a sound and it lights up. but only stays on for around 20 odd seconds. and these are only 60-90. but i see there are some new ones which you can plug in permanently and lights stay on. but they are over twice the price!

KLM 747

THAI DRAGON 747

And even if they didn't light up, they are still great models for a cheap price!!!! a proper 1/100 747 would cost over 200 gbp.

CV that was exactly how I felt when I got the model. I was forcing myself to like it more however the fact I had a reasonably priced ANA model in hand made me smile. Had it to be the diecast model (which was at least twice the price on eBay), I would definitely be more excited. It has a lot of details no doubt.

Without a doubt, I would need to be sedated if I ever get the JC Wings. There is an Inflight ANA 787-9 JA888A but nowhere to be found.

I definitely missed those discussions but honestly even as Robertjon5 has showed us with those gorgeous pics one of these is a must. The lighted cabin will look great in man cave 🙂. Terrible that the originals only lit up for 20 seconds

Nice plane OP! I wouldn't worry about the wing tab break as once reattached one will never know!

Welcome to Metal Diecast collecting!

Congratulations on your acquisition.
I am currently waiting for the JC Wings version that was announced in my regular shop. Like the ANA livery design.

Cheers, Deephalo :D

If you check link below you will see just a few of these available on ebay. but even if there were no lights, these are still huge value for money. they are big, without being 'over' big. around 18 inches long for a 1/150/160. as opposed to around 28 inches for a 1/100!!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...kw=1%2F150+led

and i found a picture of the new type. which when plugged into socket/usb, lights stay on. but are 150. i got my dragon boat 747 from ALIEXPRESS. for around $65 posted. around 50 for a model this size! seller also put low value on form, so no customs either. there were shedloads on aliexpress well cheap!

you could buy 3 of these models for around same price as 1/200 747!

but beware buying from china. i got the ANA from ebay china seller and it came wrapped in a BAG!! box got a bit crushed, but thankfully model was ok. so got 50% refund. the dragon boat from aliexpress came in a proper outer cardboard sleeve. the klm was from u.k seller.

Some better pics of dragon boat. highly recommend this and ANA.

ANA. but price is a huge rip off.

well we have really strayed from the topic of discussion but the OP did lay the bait. Is the OP Okay with the deviation? I'm guilty too as I contributed!

I'm only buying diecast of airlines and aircraft types I have flown on and a bonus if the reg actually exists. Not making the mistake of buying everything that tickled my fancy like I did with plastic until I actually went into a huge debt and had to stop. Period. 🤦‍♂️!!

I am waiting myself too. Just hope it's not too expensive. I posted a link to my flight on ANA on DAC somewhere.😉

Will keep an eye out for these. My ANA model was sent In DHL plastic bag. Not sure because of this the wings got damaged. I think you have to actually select if you want extra packaging included. You would think they would pack it like others do. Even my Gemini models came in boxes with some newspaper, not just a plastic DHL bag.

Overall not very impressed with the Japanese website as I have experienced their kindness and how careful they are with things, I thought the same would be extended when sending this out 😉

No worries. It's like the good old DAC days.🤣
