Default Idea for the model manufacturers: Flaps options

Make a single model instead of 2 versions, offer attachments where you take the flaps up sections out of the wings and pop in flaps down attachments as well as slats and canoes. Also, spoilers and engine reverser attachments.
jcahea, wildpig and 54490 like this.

Good idea! you should write this to jcwings and gemini! I would definitely be willing to pay more for such a model!

I think this would add too much cost to what is already an expensive hobby.

I can understand that you may be tempted by this but I am not sure it is doable, unless you accept compromises with accuracy.

I am afraid that in some cases the joint between the different parts will be too important.

For the time being, choosing the aircraft that could be fine with the flaps deployed seems to be the way to follow.
The B 747 was excellent, the B 727 with its triple slotted flaps could be interesting.

Jean Pierre.

The models with FLAPS DOWN/UP must be improved.
My opinion...
