Default Sample Alert... Royalty

I’m not really sure what members of the Royal Family fly or flew on this one, maybe Piers Morgan??? I picked it up at the factory as a sample thinking it was going to be released down the road, but such was not the case. Jet-X did this in 400 scale but previous founder of Jet-X has no clue...

The 757 is pretty cool too!

I have one of these in my collection. Bought it at a model fair about 15 years ago.

It is my understanding that just a handful were produced as there is nothing out there in any database or google search. If anyone can prove otherwise, I would love to know what the deal is with it..

And this is it. Not sure if the code number on the box provides any clues.
Well if it is a rare sample l will put it on eBay for $2500 and see if there are any takers

Oh, just realised mine is 1/400, so perhaps the 1/200 version is a rare beast.

Interesting sample.

Looking at the engine pylons has the Jet-X 1/200 look. The later JC Wings had a more curved pylon.

Can someone tell me why the wings (and in this case, horizontal stabs) on some British aircraft (and on BEA planes) are painted red? Is it a way to quickly identify a British aircraft? Or?

I think it's a very cool feature.

Interesting question. My BEA Vickers Viscount (Hobbymaster) also has this...

Maybe in daylight it makes the aircraft more visible to other aircraft when in clouds. Just a thought.

I always thought it was just a matter of airline decision (i.e. BEA) or, in this case, the Royal Family‘s flight service...! Keep in mind, it was BEA‘s red square livery...

Very interesting article ref the designer of the ‘red square’ livery. Prepare to be surprised!
