what's the difference between this and the airhub version aside from one is available immediately right now for a reasonable price and the other one is not available most of the time and has a crazy price?

How many fuel trucks do you need to fill up full! Love the pictures.

Excellent model. That ground equipment and personnel really set the scene.

Yeah, those guys in the fuel truck are going to be very busy!

One load might just about get the Antonov off the stand!

Nice pics. Having the "ground clutter" somehow brings them to life and the little people gives you an idea of scale.

A work of art indeed! It makes me wish that I can resize myself to that scale and play to my heart's delight. Thanks!

I don't know, I only have the Herpa model. I hope someone in the forum will have the opportunity to see up close and compare the two models.

Thank you my guys, I am very happy about it.
Yes, I made a setup mistake, I didn't see it until I saw the photo later, it's not realistic and illogical.

I guess it will be hard to do a comparison since i don't think anyone has both the herpa and the airhub one.

That's right, the model is too expensive, you can't afford both (except gift) and it is also not necessary if you have one of them.

Just want to know the detail because on the surface they are very close to each other.

The Airhub AN 225 is handmade, decaled and hand painted. The Herpa is high pressure mould injected resin, tampo printed, and has rolling rubber tires.

As much as I support AirHub and their products, there is no comparison when comparing any one off model to a similar one if offered by Herpa or diecast manufacturer. No one has made a mass produced AN124 or AN22A so the custom model makers from Ukraine offered by AiirHub Store or Sergy from ASmodels are the best answer. If you can find the Herpa AN225 which occasionally pop on ebay be prepared to pay out big money..

The 3 big differences are (compared to the Herpa 2nd release with the yellow cheatline): Airhub does not have the wing to fuselage seam, the front nose very indented seam and the Herpa's 2 rudders are way too much curved inwards.

It's made of resin so doesn't weigh that much.

herpa red cheatline is the old livery. The airhub livery is the current one.

on DIMA there are 5 AN-225 listed: https://database.diecastmodelaircraf...&scale=1%3A200

I sure like to have the one with the opening nose

IMO. the only true real "cargo" planes are the one with the nose and/or rear door!

nice photos vandan!
do you have any photos of/own the herpa c5 galaxy?
i have been contemplating 1000 times wether or not i should buy the herpa c5. that model is bloody expensive, but no other major manufacturer makes em. plus, just like the herpa an225, they will only get more expensive as time passes by.
the nose of the c5 galaxy by herpa also seems a bit off

On another note, I would have loved if the Antonov 225 had been introduced in something like regular service and painted in the 1980’s color scheme of Aeroflot - just like the AN 124.

the other two, non herpa an225s, are they handmade? if yes, then they look quite good- the nose seems more accurate than the herpa one haha

Lovely diorama, I held one of these at a collectible show. Quite hefty a piece.
