The Eastern is very tempting, but I'd prefer the white top version.

These all look very nice, but I really do need that Alitalia 747 for my Italian fleet. I'm really digging the 10 Tanker too. Kinda unique!

The CP Air DC8, how does this differ from the last CP Air DC8 release apart from the stand?

CP Air DC8, Hopefully they will have sorted out the mess-up they made of the red stripe above the flightdeck windows. The red stripe should be curved on the silver edge above the cockpit and 'V' shaped on the orange edge, if you understand what I mean, CP Air fans will know what I mean.

I'm tempted to pick it up and retire my polished IF 727-200 since their DC-9 is the better mould of the two.

Tempting, indeed! The DC-9-50 is kind of an exotic and the bare metal Eastern scheme is a winner too.

I am still waiting for the upcoming WB Models announcement. Still waiting for a Hapag-Lloyd A310.

Not sure but... did Eastern Air Lines ever have a -51 in the white hockey-stick livery?

Inflight normally takes three to six months before the announced models come out. Not a problem at all if you are familiar with release schedule (and if you are patient enough). Sometimes it takes them even longer, and in some (rather rare) cases they need over a year - without updated information on when, why or what. You got to deal with it.

Will this Caravelle be better than the one released last year with airbrakes printed on the flaps and "corogard" over the wing fences ?

We need to be convinced before ordering.

Nope. It’s a model plane. Enjoy it for what it is, but look elsewhere for investment opportunities.

New guy here, so just curious. I want to purchase one of these, preferrably from a US store, yet the only place I saw it being listed is ARD - it's not even listed on inflight200's site. How long does it take for these release announcements to be reflected in US stores?

Back in the day when I worked for them, it was Trans International with their Jumbo being the DC-10-30. Should have been the 742 as the 10 was constantly plagued with mechanical delays.

Indeed, I have the Aviation200 DC10 in Transamerica scheme, I don't believe the 747 ever had the Trans International titles , I think the name change occurred around the same time as delivery of the 747's, hopefully Aerclassics200 will release the DC8 in both schemes at some point.
The Alitalia 747 is a good donor model with the correct engines, should be a relatively simple task to remove the Alitalia paintwork and apply the Transamerica decals.

Just curious - Is there something specific about this Alitalia model that lends itself to a Transamerica makeover? Aren't there other 1:200 classic 747s available as well?

Well for starters the fuselage has an all-over white base so when the Alitalia scheme is removed you basically have a 'blank white' model without having to paint. The decals are then easily applied and clear coated if you wish. This is one of, if not the, only 747 classic model with the all-over white base and the correct engines that I have come across. I missed out on the last issue Alitalia 747 pondering whether to do it or not.
Transamerica's first 747 did have a polished belly and looked better than the all over white IMO, but attempting to customise a model with a polished belly requires more skill as in the removal of the old scheme would invariably involve some removal of the white upper paint as the polished metal would be the base colour. That would then require masking and over-spraying, more skill than I am confident with, having forked out £100 for a donor.

It would be easier all round if Inflight200, JC, JFox, Gemini200 anyone would just produce one, I'm sure it would be a popular release.

Thanks Wardair! It does make sense, and I never looked at it from that perspective. Didn't realize Alitalia is the only fully white fuselage out there.

Combined with Herpa’s Aero Union C-54.... this DC-10 could be the start of a new collection! Waterbombers. I love it.

You're gonna have to repaint. Which then defeats the purpose of this donor route. Unlike G200 and JCW, Inflight clear coats their models, so nail polish remover (or any paint stripper) not gonna work.

I had no issues stripping the newer Air France titles and tail off this Inflight A319 to convert it to the older livery.

(Well there was a bit of an issue with the Skyteam logo as you can see but that was just my clumsiness)

Ok well I'm proven wrong. I had a IF200 77W and a few 742s and tried to apply NPR and no luck. So looks like they don't clear coat over tampos all their models?
