Default AF350 GJ or IF

I am looking into buying an AF350 but wondering what fellow collectors prefer. Currently there are 2 models. One from GJ200 and one from IF200.

Which one is the one to buy....

My favorite shop has them....

I prefer whichever has removable gears. So i guess that would be gemini?

I think both are good but I prefer the landing gear on the GJ/JC A350's over the Inflights. To the the IF main gear wheels look oversized and too close together. The nose on the GJ also looks more correct to me, but that is perhaps debateable. I would not depend on my photos here to be at the exact same angle for that.

Air France is GJ - Singapore is IF

Both are removeable in this case. Some earlier Inflights may not be...not sure. IIRC my old Carbon Fiber prototype one isn't, but it's not easily accessible to me right now.

it's interesting how hard it is for these companies to get the shape of the A350 nose right. I mean it's not as pointy sloped as the nose of older types. So I guess that really psych out the manufacturers which are used to the older noses?

If you want to spend 50% less money on a decent A350, try this one;

Beautiful model!

I will have to recheck but some of the landing gears might be compatible with hogan. so with careful mods you can also do gears up/down with herpa.

To answer your question there is not much between either of these diecast moulds. Pick and get what ever one you want. Baerke has also offered a third alternative, but after the threads here on yellowing, plastic concerns me as much as rubber tyres perishing on models not on display stands. Now you have three to choose from. Good luck

I would like to add my voice.

It is true that some of the old Herpa Premium models with unpainted white plastic parts became horribly yellow, but the painted parts on the same model remained pure white.

I attach a picture of my Emirates A 300 showing this.
It was 25 years ago.

We can assume that Herpa learnt from its mistakes.
This is the reason why I bought without any hesitation the A 350 made by this manufacturer.

I also have a DLH B 737 bought as long ago as this A 300, same plastic, same characteristics, all the white painted parts are pure white, except the engine pylons which were not painted.

My thought is that after these early problems, we can trust Herpa, these pictures are there just to provide some help.
The decision is yours.

Jean Pierre.

Thumbs up Re: AF350 GJ or IF

Hello Jean-Pierre,

I have to say that Herpa did a great job. It looks very good and even better than GJ and IF !

It looks like a must have for me

Good choice
