I joined the world of 1:200 models way back in 2013 after my then teenage daughter wanted to start getting certain planes in miniature. At one time, we both had well over 400 models of all sizes of which 98% were 1:200.
After almost 8 years, decided we need to cut back as our interests have gone elsewhere and although we still love planes, we decided to only keep the most sentimental models in our collection and that is what we are doing.
I am not leaving entirely and who knows, I might buy again, but for now, I will just keep looking at the forum and hope to keep talking to all the wonderful people I met on here over the years. Thank you all for the guidance and help you gave us. Thank you for the memories

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
"you're the gourmet around here, Ed!"
I can totally attest to that! The number of times I've purchased and sold off models...eeeesh. I look back at photos of models I once owned and I could kick myself.

Thanks for sharing your story. I've enjoyed your enthusiasm you've brought to DAC over the years. Impressive that you've collected 400 models, and with your daughter! A legacy you'll never forget. I think Leonardo Da Vinci's quote about flight has a lot to do with our love for this hobby. Many have always longed to return, and do!
"Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you will always long to return."

Thank you all so much. Keeping a couple of OOAK models, and a Sands 747SP and some hogan and skymark models and a body quality Herpa Modell Edition 747. I have been bitten by the Funko POPS addiction and they are going in the place of most of the planes.
Yes crownvic has a solid point not gonna lie about it either, I mean I remember when I took a break and BOOM there I bought an other Boeing 747, oh noes I lied to myself :'D again..
And I remember saying that I am going to stop at 32 Models HAH yea riight!!!
Got 40 now sooo yeaa I am sure this addiction will get back at you as it has done to everyone else here incl myself, even when you run out of space as a collector you will always find a way to make space and get more model planes... or anything else you collect, running out of space is a big no no in collector land
And hey it's good to take a break but stopping completely... naaah never will happen, no chance, that is impossible.
Model planes can sell like candy, you just want more and more, that is the same with certain types of candy
Rock on and enjoy this magnetic addictive drug named Diecast Aircraft Models Collecting, it's just hard to ignore it really is... left alone impossible tor resist, it just does things to you that are making you want more if it.
But thanks for sharing your story though, always loved your topics, I hope you are doing well health wise
