I was adopted when I was an infant. I knew that my first flight was on Korean Flight 12 because my parents kept my original boarding pass. I also found out that it was on a 747SP. But I was never able to get an original timetable that covered the period until recently. It even listed the fares. Seoul to Los Angeles, one way in coach, was $884 which is over $2,200 adjusted for inflation today.
Fascinating history and time table you have found to go with your model. Of course after you did your original post of this Inflight model I had to go and get one for myself.

Interesting story of yours and still a great looking model of the Korean 747SP.
$884 in the mid-1980'S (or $2,200 today) is the price for a SP ride. A classic.
I love Korean Air too! i still have to fly on them whenever i get the courage to fly again, perhaps when the time is ready to do so.. but i would love to still fly on their Boeing 747-8I, i believe KAL and Lufthansa have the only remaining ones still operational..
I see the registration number of that KAL B747SP-B5 is HL7456, were you able to find out the registration number of the B747SP-B5 from that flight as well?
Awesome background though and a rare bird to have flown with as well, nicely done

Na KAL isn't the only using the B747-8i Lufthansa made it their flagship which also replaced their A380's. as for Air China that is still uncertain.

That I have not been able to confirm. I am fairly confident that both were still flying in the older Korean Air Lines scheme. They did begin to transition to the present day Korean Air in 1984. However, from everything you can see on A.net -- 7456 was still in the old scheme in 1985 and 7457 was photographed in April 1984 wearing the scheme. The next photo I could find was in 1986 where it was in the blue livery. I flew in May 1984.
Indeed a moving story. Thanks for sharing. Could it be that the aviation virus (in the good sense of the term) has been passed on at such a young age? And then your first flight in one of the most beautiful airliners ever. How cool!
My first trip on a plane ever was at 10 yr old emigrating from VN on Air France 747 from SGN to BKK. Sadly that's all i know.
Guess i could ask my parents if they still have the ticket although i highly doubt it. Maybe I can somehow find the exact date and flight number. Maybe that will lead to clue about the exact registration and 747 type.
