And which is your favourite? I've only flown on two, both Alaska. Spirit of Disneyland N318AS and Disneyland 50th Anniversary Tinker Bell N791AS. Up until 2017, all of my travel had been up and down the west coast of the U.S. so no International carriers, darn it. My favourite is N791AS. I wish Disney would authorise releasing these in 1:200 scale again. They're now difficult to find and when available, aren't cheap.
Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
I flew on the Delta 757 SLC Olympics Soaring Spirit. It was just a short hop from JAX to ATL and I was flying by myself as a minor at the time (but not young enough to be a UM...I was like 16 I think). Anyway, I was originally on a 767 and was already seated. They asked for volunteers after we on board for money & first class on the next flight. I volunteered. This was before the age of widespread cell phone use. My father was going to pick me up and by the time I got off, he had already left for the airport so I couldn't tell him what I had done.
Anyway, the SLC plane showed up. This was also before 9/11 so he was standing at the gate when I got off. His first words were, "You better have gotten some money and not just first class!" I said, "I got $300..."

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
"you're the gourmet around here, Ed!"
Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
AirTran "Ravens" 717 on FLL-PIT
American "AstroJet" 737 on CLT-RDU, RDU-ORD
American "AirCal" 737 on BWI-CLT
American "TWA" 737 on CLT-DEN
American "US Airways" A321 on ORD-CLT
The AstroJet is hands down the best livery. Hoping to cross off the rest of the AA heritages jets soon.

The ones that immediately spring to mind are the following:
Aer Lingus A320 retro livery
Etihad Airways A320 Formula One A6-EIB
Etihad Airways A330-300 'Visit Abu Dhabi' A6-AFA
Jet Airways B737-800 Disney

Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
The only ones that I can remember are:
Ryanair B737-200 Vodaphone EI-CNT
Ryanair B737-800 Boeing House colours EI-DCL (original scheme without blended winglets)
British Airways A319 in BEA colours G-EUPJ
I’ll look through my log book and see if there are any more
Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
Thanks for all of the responses. These are some amazing special liveries, many of which I had no knowledge of, so this has been a bit of a learning experience. Aussiejets, I'm especially envious you were able to fly on both "Dreaming" 747s.
Taking this a step further: Are there any special livery planes you'd like to fly on? For me, they're all aircraft that are no longer in service, but the first two that come to mind are Virgin Atlantic's "Birthday Girl" B744 and the BA Landor "100 years" B744. I at least had the pleasure of seeing Birthday Girl lift off the runway at SFO whilst I was waiting to board a Virgin America flight to Seattle. What a joy to see.
Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
Southwest: Nevada, California, Florida, Maryland and Texas. Shamu.
JetBlue: NYPD, Jets
Air Malta: Valletta city of culture 2018
I have never been lucky enough to be on a widebody special scheme, but did get to fly on the BA/Qantas hybrid VH-NLH, so I will count that one.

Some amazing liveries among these. I also flew on BA 772 G-VIIA that was once painted in the World Tails Waves of the City livery, but when I flew on it, it had already been repainted to corporate livery. Darn it.
Been thinking about adding it to my collection as a model of a plane I've flown on. Just don't know if I want it in a livery it wasn't painted in when I flew on it.

I didn’t count the rest of the World Tails, because with a few exceptions, each tail was on more than one airframe. I only considered mor unique instances.

Interesting question...I never thought about it, thougfh I register my flights.
Now, after checking, I was really surprised how many it were.
Many I didn't even remember first moment. Didnt include the BA world tails.

How many World Tails do you estimate having flown on?

Puh, difficult to say....
Plane wise I loved the MD82, 717, RJ100 and 747's most.
Livery wise clear favourite from all of them was the Lufthansa Retro. Looks still good, even on a modern plane. Unofrtunately my only retro I had the pleasure to fly on, but at least I had her twice.

On the 747,
Chelsea Rose
Animals are Trees
Koguty Lowickie
One of the Delftblue Daybreak variations
Bennyhone Tartan
Whale Rider
Wings (Denmark)
Rendezvous
One of the Colum variations, maybe both
One of the Ndebele variations, maybe two
Waves and Cranes
Waves of the City
I saw all 3 of the Australia tails, but did not get to fly on them, nor did I get to fly on Paithani or Blomsterang as most of my 747 trips were on 744s.

I'm in the same boat with G-VIIU with Delftblue Daybreak. I also flew VIIB and VIIH but it looks like those went straight from Landor into the Union Flag scheme.

Yup, G-VIIA has been produced by IF200, GJ (400), and Herpa (500) but they're all in the Waves of the City livery. It's a pretty livery, but the plane wasn't painted in those colours when I flew on it. I've considered buying a model with a different registration number and simply changing it, but the blue front landing gear doors with white lettering would make it difficult.
Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
Not too many for me:
*Alaska “More to Love” 737-900 (N493AS)
*Allegiant “Blue Man Group” MD-83 (N405NV)
*WestJet “#100 Boeing 737NG” 737-800 (C-GAWS)
*Hawkair “Roy Henry Vickers” Dash 8 100 (C-FYDH)
I also flew on the original “Salmon Thirty Salmon” but it has been painted back to regular Alaska colours by then. 737-400 (N792AS). I flew on an Alaska 737-800 with the Hawaiian lei design too.

I didn’t realise you considered World Tails as special schemes. I flew on a few on BA B737s, 757s, A320s, an Embraer 145 and an Avro 100.
The ones that I remember were:
Animals and Trees (Avro 100) - Have the model in 1:200
Flower Field (Sweden)
Colour Down the side (Dash 8)
Colum
Crossing borders
Delftblue Daybreak
Cockerel of Lowicz
Paithani
Rendezvous
Wings
Whale Rider
Market Place (Embraer 145) - Have the model in 1:200
I really liked these colours, my favourite was the Benyhone Tartan but I never got to fly on one of these.

I flew in it when it was almost new. It was based at Luton for a few weeks and was exclusively on Luton to Dublin so I made a special trip for a day out in Dublin. It rained heavily all day so I spent most of the day in a bar reading my book next to a log fire.
Re: Which special livery aircraft have you flown o
Only one I can think of is the BA Negus 'retro' 757, G-CPET, during its brief operational period to mark the type's retirement. It was actually the final passenger service and I got a certificate too.

Very cool! You managed to ride ones I missed. Colour down the side only graced that one frame, so I think that does count as a special scheme.

Ah, I wasn’t sure if it was the only one or not, lucky to have caught it then.
Those colourful tail fins added to the interest of what type I was flying on as well as noting the registration for my passenger log book. Most of my flights were UK domestic and predominantly on the LHR-NCL (EGLL-EGNT) route although there was the occasional foray into Europe.
I remember that I have also flown on the Loganair DHC6 G-SGTS which resembles a massive Scottish flag; an out and back from Glasgow to Barra to land on the beach at low tide.
