I worked around those planes 12+ years and I like to nitpick models.

Things wrong about the model:

1) Ship numbers too large on nose gear doors and tail.

That's it. Amazing how right they got this model! Even the N-number font is correct

You're so fortunate to have a Herpa Premium! It's gorgeous! I've wanted the Pan Am B722 for years but have never acquired one. Wonderful photos, as always.

The United 727s are also going for big bucks these days, too.

Do you own any HP 744s? I once owned the KLM and the ANZ corporate livery 744s. I was saddened to have to sell the KLM. It's a beauty.

Yes, I'm concerned about buying the white ones, too, which is one of the reasons why I haven't put much effort into obtaining a Pan Am. I once owned an HP LH B722 but I knew when I bought it that it had yellowed.

Gorgeous model and photos. Thanks for sharing!

I only have one Herpa Premium, KLM B744. It's almost 20 years old and no yellowing at all. Beautiful piece.

It truly is. I'll not forget when I first received mine. It was my holy grail at the time.

And this, my friends, is why plastic really is the best medium for these models.

each of these models were crafted with extra ordinary care and precision. People really took care to make them and of course charged premium pricing too.

I saw one of these on display in a local hobby shop about 15 years ago. I thought it was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, the “white” top was almost lemon yellow.
