A full text 'British' Negus example would suit me better. Are these the first 200 series Tristars released in these schemes ?

IF200 did do G-BHBL in "British" titles in 2009. G-BEAK was also done in full Negus scheme but wasn't a 200.

Thanks, I'm generally a 1:400 collector, so wasn't sure. Maybe I'll have a hunt for that then.

Yes- that's the only "British" titled Tristar that I am aware of in 1:200. Not a bad looking model.

They come up every now and again on eBay. Last one I saw was https://www.ebay.com/itm/INFLIGHT-1-...0AAOSw~nFfv5vj Not a terrible price - but shipping will likely be a bear.

Only 6 months from pre-announce to availability. That must be some kind of record.

Although there have been great pictures of the Landor in the other thread - I have not seen the pictures here of the other two - so here are mine: G-BHBP British airtours (Negus)

G-BHBP British airtours (Negus) L-1011 right front by John A, on Flickr
G-BHBP and G-BDXL British airtours (Negus) by John A, on Flickr

..and G-BGBB in British airways (Negus - small titles)

G-BGBB British airways (Negus) L-1011 left side by John A, on Flickr

The new ARD model compares well to the earlier Inflight G-BEAK:

G-BGBB and G-BEAK Side by Side by John A, on Flickr
G-BGBB and G-BEAK Nose to Nose by John A, on Flickr
G-BGBB and G-BEAK Tail to Tail by John A, on Flickr

In the Landor thread - I noted that I had a Skyline version of the Landor G-BHBR - so here are a couple of shots with that model and the new ARD version:

G-BHBR Britsh Airways (Landor) L-1011 ARD (left) and Skyline (right) by John A, on Flickr
G-BHBR Britsh Airways (Landor) L-1011 ARD (left) and Skyline (right) Nose to Nose by John A, on Flickr

..and then lastly - because the camera was out - here is a Negus and a Landor Tristar fleet shot... because what's the point of building a model airport if not to take pictures like these.

Love the last few shots. The setup looks amazing. Never been a huge fan of the Negus livery though...

Serif fonts just don't go so well with clean modern looking liveries.

the old negus BAirtours livery is really quite ‘lazy’ isn't it? I suppose it helped with the transfer/leasing from BA parent.
Especially when you then see the effort and grace in the landor Caledonian livery.

Well, British Airtours had always been the ‘visible’ charter subsidiary of British Airways - even when the Landor livery was adopted.

The big transformation came with the acquisition of British Caledonian in 1988, when part of the company name as well as the tail logo were adopted and British Airtours became Caledonian Airways.
