Well it seems I was able to add an other B747 to my collection for a total of 37 B747's, thus it was time for me to do a new review then, this one did take more time for me to get hands on but major thanks to Arcunia for letting me reserve this beauty from JC Wings.
So here it is, my 37th scale 1:200 diecast Boeing 747 model, also my last one for now, I would have to sell things to make space, thereby old diecast scale 1:18 model cars to make space for more scale 1:200 diecast B747's that is something I will be doing, since well can't stop at 37 B747's right? Well I can't anyway.
Here the model info:
Boeing 747-123 (ex-American Airlines B747-123)
United Airlines "Battleship Gray Livery"
N154UA "Worldwide Service"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings
Overall I really missed doing this as for this model the N164UA an ex-American Airlines B747-123 from August 1970,in United's Battleship gray livery really makes this old B747 classic look new again, what livery schemes can do, even such an old aircraft, a modern livery can really give them a good refreshment at times the dark flat gull gray with the dark navy blue gives these UALB747's a very classic but subtle look, it's my favored livery for UAL and having both from JC Wings just makes this a perfect achievement for both.
Jeweled Landing lights in nose gear and main wings, plus all the strobe lights are also jeweled, it just can't get any better than that.
JC Wings all the way I'm like.
Here the photo's:
Thanks to Arcunia for adding this 747 hat pin, I shall wear it with pride
Here the box for starters:
Here Arcunia carefully protected the VF Antenna's with soft foam, this prevented them from getting snapped off during transport.
Both VF Antenna's neatly protected:
On with the model:
Sun a classy and subtle livery as UAL's Battleship Gray Livery goes, really my favorite when it comes to UAL B747's.
this livery really made this B747-123 look like new again, what a paint scheme can do, can be miracles for such things, still a classic bird, but with a new look.
And here on with the rest, the more i look at this model the more I am liking it, glad I made this choice, it's the only set in my collection of two B747's from the same airline wearing the same livery, just glad I have both from JC Wings that really pays off to the same pain colors and decal qualities.
Here the stand shots:
Just love how this one looks, every angle it just gets better.
And I would of bought this model a lot earlier if I knew about it, this was a lucky find to be honest, well for me anyways.
So here the final part of this review, the final display of this model that I put together with the UAL B747-422 N178UA also from JC Wings, but before ending it completely I Made some combo shots of both N154UA with N178UA, just as a little extra for this review, these two look fantastic together as if they were meant to be a set of two United Airlines Battleship Gray B747's. After this the final display of them both.
So here they are together:
Boeing 747-422 United Airlines "Battleship Gray Livery" N178UA "Worldwide Service" Scale 1:200 JC Wings
Boeing 747-123 (ex-American Airlines B747-123) United Airlines "Battleship Gray Livery" N154UA "Worldwide Service" Scale 1:200
JC Wings
Here the photo's of these two United B747's:
they look so well together, love this set big time <3
And some art style fun pics as these two go
Both have the nice classy wooden stand base with an aluminum arm part that holds them in place perfectly.
JC Wings also added rubber on the part that is connected to the belly of the model, IF200 and others also started using this method.
Their dark navy blue bellies and their silver keels, the Soul bass underlines divide both Battleship Gray & Dark Navy Blue colors perfectly
Second pic shows both United B747's together, both about 30 years apart yet they both look like new aircraft thanks to this livery:
And here the final display
And there you have it, 37 Boeing 747's I have collected over the past 6 a 7 years, it's been a long ride but a worthy one, I will do a topic of all my 3dfx Boeing 747's next, many newphoto's were made due to the numerous rearrangements I had to make to make it all work out, as always enjoy the thread
Excellent pickup!!! I have this one as well, but now seeing it with the 400 as you've displayed I need to find a 400! My compliments on your nice 747 collection!
Hey thanks man, yea could leave this beauty behind and since I had N178UA also from JC Wings the idea of making these a set would be an awesome way to close 2020 when it comes to Model collecting
My parents paid half of it since this is a gift from them for my 44th Birthday that I have on December 08 5 days from now
So yea this is a good way to close this terrible year, Where there be Boeing 747's there be happiness all round <3
This Trance tune I listened to when I was doing the review and yups my B747's are my Wanderlust for sure
Ruben de Ronde ft. Eke - Wanderlust (Eugenio Tokarev Remix) (2020)
Nice pair of twins you got there Goldie. JCW did a fine job with colour matching. It's a very corporate regal livery that reminds me of the BA Landor a lot. Hard for ATC and other aircraft to see in bad weather conditions too must have been a challenge for them all. That said Goldie, I love them.
They thanks Steve, yea since I already had the UAL B747-400 in this livery finding out about that JC Wings also released a UAL B747-100 as well, I knew what I had to do, now both are United, fits the name and setting for my collection to put closure to 2020.

Congrats on your recent acquisition! Seeing the -100 next to the -400 really emphasises the extended length of the upper deck on the -400.
I had to sell all of my models when I was forced to return to the U.S. from London in August, but I'm looking to buy another 747 soon. Not sure which one. Best wishes for a joyous holiday season and New Year.

Hey thanks man! Well only the UAL B747-123 was added the UAL B747-422 I already had, that one wasn't cheap ether but so much worth having the UAL B747-123 really makes this set complete for me, I also know IF200 did a UAL B747SP-21 (Ex PAA) with this Battleship Gray Livery, maybe something to look out for
Me stopping to collect B747's, hah never!

Hey thanks KLM4me, just having both in the same livery nailed it for me with these, this is my only pair that has the exact same livery and from the same brand that being JC Wings that made it a perfect United match
I also wish you all the best during this holiday season, here in NL it's just a normal season th, schools get 2 weeks off, which is in the last week of December and the first week of January, now during to Covid-19 they made it go to week 02 of January, so they do get 3 weeks instead of the standard 2.
But turning 44 next week Tuesday, this UAL B747-123 is my early birthday gift, so I had to make a good review of it but with a new style for posting the pics with smaller thumbnails so more per post.
But hey if ya need help seeking a B747 feel free to ask, I may know some places

Hmm that stripe is silver actually, really gives a finished off effect, the reason was that that part had the most maintenance, ex-United Airlines Captain Ed Mitchell told me that, he flew with N178UA for 21 years, he's a friend of mine at Facebook and also part of my Boeing 747 Community

I'm still trying to decide which 747 to add to my collection. It will either be a Virgin or one of the BA "100" models. If Virgin, I'd probably want one of the older liveries, like the late '90s silver livery. Though that would cost me all of my limbs! Or Birthday Girl. I wish a model of that aircraft would be re-released on a better mould. If BA, I'd want a Landor. My first trip to London in 1989 was on a BA Landor 747, though I don't know which variant it was on. Had to have been a -100 or -200.
Happy Birthday to you! I hope you did something fun to treat yourself on your special day.
NICE!! One of my favorite liveries of all time! Looks like this model is already scarce on eBay. I've got both the -100 (SMA) and -400 (Dragon Wings) in 1/400, and despite their age, they are beautiful keepers. The largest I'll venture in 1/200 is a 737, and I'm really hoping a 1/200 B737-500 in this livery is in the works by one of the manufacturers.

Hey thanks man yea, Battleship Livery is UAL's best imo the classy flat gull gray and dark navy blue and the thin soul bass underlines dividing the two dark colors , very classy and subtle, this livery makes the B747-100 look like a new aircraft as well, what a paint job can do right
Also major thanks to to John & Danielle from Arcunia for allowing me to reserve this beauty <3
Both UAL B747-100 & 400 from JC Wings just the perfect match
And oh my B747 journey will come with more classics this run, just have to because they are worth it and remind me of the Golden era of B747's and air travel it's self.
