Default Custom 1/200 XC-99/Convair Model 37

An early Christmas gift and another addition to my future Rod Serling International Twilight Zone Fantasy Airport. Thanks Segeii!!!!

I am in a quandary as to put the black nose Radom ala C-133 or not. I have the nose made but not attached just in case I decide later.

Interesting model there, looks like this one was based off from the Convair B-36 Peacemaker

Very interesting model.

Only one built, the military version, which flew for the USAF, maintenance was difficult.

In my opinion, no weather radar for this model.

if you like unusual aircraft, I know where to find a Bristol Brabazon and a Saro Princess, both are very nice ...

That's certainly different. Looks like an American Brabazon.

Here's another vote for the no radar option.

I watched some youtube videos about the B-36 recently, and sure enough they showed this proposed airliner version as well. Pan American showed some interest, but in the end only one was built and operated by the US military.
Like the Brabazon it was designed for another era, jet powered aircraft was the way forward.
Never thought I'd see a model of one, absolutely stunning!
I'd vote for no radar as well.

Fascinating model. I’d also forget about the radome.

This is a very interesting model, very nicely done

I would be interested in seeing picture of the referenced Brabazon!

I think your collection would be enhanced with the addition of the Lockheed Constitution - which at one time seemed to also be a potential Pan Am fleet member.

Thank you guys for helping me decide about the radome nose. I will leave it as is. To JP, I have the Brabazon (You actually told me where to buy the kit) I will try to post some pictures of this model and the Brabazon. To Ranchero, you read my mind. The Lockheed Constitution is my next custom-built project. Cheers to everyone!
