Default Herpa United Boeing 787-8?

Hi guys,

I am looking to add a United 787-8 to my collection. While browsing I came across the Herpa offering.

I have nothing against plastic and generally find the Herpa models (DC-10, 747-8, A330) pretty decent, especially considering the price.

Does anyone of you have any verdict on the Herpa 787-8?

Alternatively the Inflight model also looks nice. However is 2x the price of the Herpa. What do you all think?

Thanks for your support!

Markus

i have one of herpa 787-10. excellent even for plastic. i just wish that herpa would have allow the wings and hor stab to be removed because that would have significantly allowed for smaller packaging without having any impact on detail aerials, engine details etc..

I have the Herpa 787-8 from United in my collection. Of course a gemini or inflight is better but if you don't mind less details then it is a great buy. For me United is not my prime collection airline so these cheaper models suffice. Also have the Herpa united 787-9 and -10.

I have GeminiJets and Inflight/JFox in my collection and InFlight/Jfox models definitely stand out. You pay for what for what you get - pay higher -> get better product.

Really comes down to the mold. Herpa's A330, A350 and B773 are superb, wish all of their molds were of that quality.

I have a Lufthansa 747-8 after seeing one on display.
I am moving to herpa on all my "big" planes as quality has improved.

herpa 1/200 are really some of the most detail plastics ones around. i just wish they allow for removable gears (and wings to allow for less space)
