Default 1:200 JC Wings Boeing B767-300ER EL AL (XX2286)

Unexpectedly, the seventh (7) of the expected seven, arrived safely and touched down today.

This is the JC Wing Boeing B767-300ER of EL AL of Israeli Airlines (Reg: 4X-EAJ, named "Bat Yam", which translated means "Daughter of the Sea"). Model number XX2286.

It arrived with the nose and port main undercarriage being loose.
Reattaching the nose gear was easy, but the main port undercarriage, was a bit more dramatic Oh well, if someone is curious I can go on details.

The model is quite big with lots of details and features as you would expect from JC Wings.
The nose shape is not the best, but much better [I think], that my previous JC Wings 762 in "aquafresh" Air Canada livery...
Fixed undercarriages, nose landing lights, turning nose gear, detailed engines with fan blades...etc...
Originally, I wanted to wait for the Inflight 767's, but my wife wanted me to have this one [for now at least].

Below are some pictures for your enjoyment...

One last arrival is expected soon, my all time favorite, the majestic Airbus A340-600 in Virgin Atlantic [a big virgin atlantic thank you] billboard livery. This aircraft has been recently retired from the Virgin fleet, but its beauty stunned me and had to have one. More when it arrives

Ups... that nose looks really strange...

Reminds me on the discussions about the nose section of the first GJ200 B763 HAWAIIAN.

Well the nose shape isn’t all that terrible [I think]...Compared with the previous 762 I’ve had...

It’s a mediocre effort by JC Wings, to correct it...

For sure, I’m going to consider the Inflight 762 version and I will talk my wife into getting it, when available, here in Australia.

In the meantime, I’m thinking to have this one a bit “customised” meaning adding some weathering effect, as it looks “too clean”!
I’ve always wanted my models to have weather effect details, as it gives them a bit of a “character” and makes it look rugged and unique!

Did anyone try adding weather effects to a die cast model airplane!?

Your input and advices will be greatly appreciated and considered.

I wanted to ask your opinion on differences between JC and Inflight? I have GeminiJets and InFlight/JFox in my 1:200 collection and have much greater preference for InFlight models for their detailing, precision, greater weight and quality.
I am tempted to venture on JC model given many models that they offer in comparison to other manufacturers.

It's going to be near impossible to have just one manufacturer in your collection if you have a varied interest in releases. Some Inflight moulds are better, some Gemini/JC are better. It depends on the mould - many comparisons have been done on this forum if you search for them.

Overall, I find JC Wings models to be quite good. In my opinion, their quality and craftsmanship is comparable to Inflight 200 and their associated brands.

However, there are a few JC Wings releases which are not that great, for example their 762 and 763’s.

I think, it’s pretty much the same with Inflight 200 models. Some of their models are a joke, for example Inflight 732’s, 721‘s and 722’s.
Way too many obvious mistakes to point out on these.
On the other hand [in my opinion], Inflight A330’s, A343’s, A319, 320’s and 321’s are the best of the best!

So it’s a hit and miss, some releases being awful and others being excellent.

Over the years, I’ve learned that no model release is perfect, no matter if it’s an Inflight200 and their associated brands, or a JC Wings, Gemini or others.
All of them make mistakes and errors, some bigger than others.

So my advice is to always wait, follow this forum on collectors opinions and discussions,
Compare for yourself the newly released model, with the actual airplane that’s being reproduced.
This will help you form an opinion which will determine if it’s really worth spending your hard earned money on the new release or not.
I hope this helps.
