Default Inflight 200 October releases 2020 and G-CIVY!

Greetings, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as this pandemic rages on. Here are the latest models from Inflight 200. T7

IF744AR0920 Aerolineas Argentinas Boeing 747-400 LV-AXF
IF7449T1220 ACT Airlines Boeing 747-481(BDSF) TC-ACF
IF744AI0121 Air India Boeing 747-437 VT-EVB
IF101UA1119 United Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 N1835U
IF332IT0121 Kingfisher Airlines Airbus A330-223 VT-AJP
IF3420S0819 Austrian Airlines Airbus A340-211 OE-LAG
IF787KLM1120 KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner PH-BKG
IF763KL1220 KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 767-306/ER PH-BZH
IF310TG1220 Thai Airways Airbus A310-204 HS-TIC
IF359TG1220 Thai Airways International Airbus A350-941 HS-THK
IFC32USA01 USA - Air Force Boeing C-32A (757-200) 98-0003
IF773IAF1220 India - Air Force Boeing 777-300/ER VT-ALV

British Airways Boeing 747-436 G-CIVY was the very last British Airways Boeing 747-436 to leave London Heathrow Airport ending over 50 years of Boeing 747 operations. A downturn in passenger demand due to covid-19 resulted in British Airways bringing an end to 747 operations earlier than originally planned. G-CIVY in the Chatham livery with crest departed very swiftly behind G-CIVB from runway 27R as BA747 on the 8th October 2020 destined for St Athan. The agile Queen of the Skies demonstrated a short take-off to those gathered to say farewell by the northern runway and then flew a circuit over London before performing a fly-past along runway 27L in appalling weather conditions. Victor Yankee had been in storage at London Heathrow since 5th April and was flown to St Athan for part out and eventual scrapping.

I always find it interesting that a, dare I call it rare, model pops up on eBay, gets bid up high, just before the same livery is released. A bit like insider trading, I wonder if someone knew this Inflight C-32A was going to be released and decided to sell their Gemini version. Yes I see they are a bit different.

Sure would like to see the Inflight 757 before making another idiotic pre order. Let’s count this as two months of leases before the actual model is revealed. Same for the UA DC-10. I want it but won’t be pre ordering before I see that shade of gray. This pre ordering business should be stopped.

The grey in the DC-10 rendition already looks incorrect, and it looked incorrect in the 747-400 Battleship too and came out incorrect. I wouldn't expect any better for the DC-10 unfortunately

That’s why people should never pay huge sums for any model. These days another will come around.

The manufacturers don’t make any money if people are buying the old stuff. This one will sell and sell well - even if the colour is ‘off’ and it has a few less antennas.

I thought the exact same thing, I've been wanting the Gemini C-32 for years, but not willing to pay the premium price. Hopefully the Inflight mould will be just as good if not better.

Expect to see a lot Delta widget Gemini 200's soon too.

Some nice releases, but no new KLM hardware for me. I'm quite happy with the JC Wings KLM 767 and previous Inflight KLM 787-10. Hopefully the KLM 767 will be released in its final livery one day.

Agreed Maarlandair, would also love to see a 767 from KLM in Final livery... would be better imo

I was so disappointed. When I first scanned the announcement, I quickly saw the Austrian A340 livery, and thought is was the B767-300. Unfortunately, not to be!

I actually thought of the exact opposite. Had he completed the sale last week then it would be different but they announced this about two days before his auction ended. I would consider that to be bad luck.

However, as I have said before, these are not investments and in fact are the exact opposite. It's not quite as stupid as buying a new car today hoping that it will one day appreciate but the odds are never in your favor. Most of them will not appreciate and most of those that do, will be remade eventually.

Having said that, I will get this model.

Definitely interesting topics. I always enjoyed the Kingfisher livery and service, but only flew on their A320, so will have to wait for that one. Only flew on the A320 with Air India too, but the 747 is so iconic that I might be tempted.

I think you’re right, but the Inflight/JFox UA 747-100 was spot on, in my opinion.

The shade of Gray in the United Airlines lineup is hilarious to me.. Inflight nails the -100, and JCWings botches it, along with the -400. It looks like the 2020 Inflight UA 747-400 versions looks good. The Gemini 727 is a joke, literally, as is the Inflight 727-200 but for the opposite reason. The Gemini 757 from years back is great! The A319 is a shade of brown.... The JCWings 757 is too dark. The old Inflight DC-10 are too dark. The EMB120 is good enough. So in the end, Inflight and Gemini have nailed it and blown it, with JCW never getting it right..?

The shade of grey is challenging. The grey IF200 used for the 747-400 is so wrong you can tell with the naked eye.

The 747-100 was produced by JFOX if I’m not mistaken and they don’t necessarily use IF200 colours or even use IF200 resources except the moulds hence why it came out pretty good. (Didn’t JC also produce one too?)

I never knew the JCWings grey was wrong? I have the 747-400 and the 757 and I didn’t directly compare it to a real photo but it looked pretty good. Definitely better than the current IF200 grey. Battleship is definitely one of my favourites though, but I’ve seen more Tulip and that will always remain my most favourite.

Who knows maybe they will fix the DC-10 I highly doubt it though

Glad you like the JCW 747-400 and 757. I only have the 757, and compared to the Gemini, I think the JCW is too dark. For me. I would always prefer that the manufacturers error on the side of too light. But then the highly anticipated Gemini 727 comes out, and it’s almost white!

Yes, JFox did the 747-100, and I think it’s as good as any. Did not know there are such significant differences between JFox and Inflight. Good to know. JFox uses Inflight’s DC-10 mould, so I think we’re hoping for the same thing here..

It’s just amazing to me that they’d ever get it wrong, after it’s been done right. But I know nothing about paint, so there’s that stupid expectation I have..

Don't ever expect anyone to use the same colours. In real life actual airplane paints are never the same. A prime example is Air Canada's toothpaste Light Blue livery being painted in different paint hangars and some came out a shiny light blue, and some came out in a greenish blue colour. The thing about some manufacturers is the colour changes as the livery advances. GeminiJets didn't use the same KLM Blue, and some prefer Gemini's old Blue but Gemini was given new KLM blue shade by the airline but people didn't like it. The thing is this is still an active livery and still being flown. Im just confused why Battleship, a livery gone such a long time ago keeps getting paint edits if the airline isn't giving the manufacturers an updated battleship grey colour.

IMO yea don't expect paint to always be the same. Its always changing. Sometimes for the worse or for the better.
