Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"

Sorta has a TWA final scheme feel about it. I do wish it had a lot more of the features of the current AF1..... I think I remember hearing they were planning a more bare bones approach for this version compared to the previous one.
I still say this release was waaaayyyy too early. The real Air Force One 747-8 will be ready in 2025. Who knows what kind of modifications it will go through or if it would even stay this color scheme. I still like the original blue color scheme that Kennedy's wife chose, I think that was very presidential.
+ 1 on the original blue colour scheme, can't be beaten in my opinion. I do think that the new scheme above is actually a very clean design, however to me it just doesn't seem anywhere near as unique as the current colours on AF1.
Each to their own though!
I don't purchase fantasy schemes either. It's a nice model of the new "proposed livery".
However, the current president told Boeing to cut cost and as I understand, the refueling bump on the nose was the first thing to be deleted off both the two SAM's due to the new 747-8I range.
Window config will be different along with the very latest technology Satcom's and antenna along with counter measures too.
I also think the polished bottom of the fuselage makes the current AF1 a unique looking aircraft since more and more airlines and governments have moved away from polish over the years. I recall an earlier post which refers to a TWA like scheme.
This average look makes the plane less of a representative for the US i.m.o.
That article is a complete BS!! I am always fascinated by people nesting in the cosy and warm office writing completely false and unverified articles about things they don’t have a clue about and getting paid for it is truly the icing on the cake. That Julie should stick to kindergartens and gluten... A minute job on Google and there you have it:
The 747-8’s used for future VC-25B’s are not the very last passenger versions ( Intercontinentals ) built. Here it is
A local news reporter here explained awhile ago that B-52 is attack submarine soo I need a new profession. Some people really step by mistake into a pot of gold I suppose... And I do prefer that unique and striking baby blue. Nothing like it!! I hope that they keep it...

I think the refueling receptacle will be on the final one again. The new paint scheme is just so weird though. +1 for the blue classic...lol...
From what I read in AW&ST, the refuelling capability was dropped for two reasons, 1: To save money and 2: It was never used on the current AF1, not counting training etc, but then it wouldn't be AF1
Got to agree with SKF, wait for the actual roll out, IF and GJ will be tripping over themselves releasing the the final version.
General question for those in the know, can the belly of a 747-8 be polished.
Meh, new proposed livery is okay as I do like anything TWA related; however, the current one is better and as mentioned above, "iconic" and "unique". Was thinking the same re window configuration and ones/some that will most likely be blanked out as mentioned above.
Mr. burns, any belly can be polished, just like Fokker said any teet can be milked!
Even if the actual surface can't be polished I'm sure in this day and age something can be applied to it to simulate chrome/polished look.
I recall that Boeing refused to give the Lufthansa 748-Retro a polished belly, saying that the aluminium alloy is different from the old 747s and hence needs an anti-corrosion varnish.
Thanks for all of the replies. The reason I asked was I recall reading something to that effect, obviously it was here when the LH retro 747-8I was released.
It also reminded me that Airbus did not allow American to polish their A300's at first but to paint them light grey. Eventually Airbus changed their mind.
That may be a factor in being able to use the current scheme. We shall see.

Therefore LH had to go with a grey belly.
Well there goes my request for more chrome. Thank you, that was most informative.

I really like this new proposed livery. Represents the USA much better. I do like the current blue colors, but it's out of date. Time for change. Also, I do think chrome would look good, but I don't the 747-8 can have chrome. So that's out. :-)
An additional issue of the A/R receptacle is that it gives off fuel fumes. Given that it's directly above the boss' suite, that was nixed along with the other listed reasons.
Too bad the newer 747's can't have the Chrome look. Imagine how it would have looked on the retro LH! So on the new AF1 they can only make chrome engine cowlings or so...

I ordered the model, but I have to say, I hate the livery, its begging for a stylized stars and stripes on the vert stab, instead of just a plain painted flag. I also think the red needs to feature more prominently, perhaps a wider cheat line. Of course the best thing to do is toss this livery in the trash bin and go with an updated version of the present livery.

Updating a classic livery +1... Gonna skip this one myself even though i am a fan of AF1. I already got the gemini 1/400 AF1 748 in classic livery.
I can't stand the proposed livery for the 748. It's boring, uninspired, and tasteless in comparison to the current livery. I'd be completely open-minded to an updated version of the current liveries colors, as it already has a lot of character and stands out on its own. Would def suck without the chrome though.
Not the first time that Gemini have done a 748 though.... (okay Andover) but everytime I see 748 yer have to think what does the Orange one want with an Avro 748...????

I wonder if this will still be the livery in the case that the incumbent is out after everything is certified with the recent election!? If not, I wonder if Gemini will produce a current/fantasy livery on this air frame before actual roll out like they did in 1:400!?
just get another different 748. Plenty of other VIP 748's. I mean we should really wait 4 more yrs. Else you just end up getting another one then again anyway.

The new 747-8's are supposed to enter service in 2024 so it will be in service before the next election (definitely before an inauguration).
I hope they bring back the original livery of Air Force One for the new Boeing 747-8 and not the fantasy version as seen in the first post of the President's ride period.
trump just wanted a lot more red on the plane because red is the republican color and blue is the democrat color....lol... maybe there could be a compromise paint scheme?

Various shades of Beige.

Greatly agree man this is by far the best livery for all AF1 aircraft.
The new livery is pretty boring to be honest, it lacks style and elegance.
