Default Comparison: Inflight vs JC/Gemini A330-300

In response to another thread asking about the tail shape on Inflight 200 A330s/340s I decided to post this comparison that I had been thinking about making for a while. I have not taken dimensions yet but will try to follow up with those. I have also not yet done any comparisons with the 1:1, so I'm curious to hear your comments on that as well.

Aeroflot is Inflight, Aer Lingus is Gemini

Since it was the tails that started the conversation:

Different engine types, so you can't directly compare those here.

You can see this better if you blow up the image on Flickr, doesn't show up as well in these smaller ones, but the Gemini has more 'texture' on the wing from the control surface hinges.

They're extremely close, the big difference is that one is sitting higher at the tail. I think overall the Gemini version looks a little better when it comes to details, but I wouldn't have problem buying either one.

Thanks for doing this.

Yes, I have now checked against the 1:1 tail height and the IF200 one is closer to correct there. There's always going to be a little variation on the real aircraft depending on whether it's loaded or not, but the GJ one is definitely sitting too low. I also don't like the cockpit printing and the landing gear on the GJ as much, so for me the IF200 edges GJ here. But they both are good moulds IMO.

I would tend to agree that the Gemini look more correct here, but this isn't something that would jump out at me unless they were totally the wrong shape or size.

Yes, we know. You've mentioned that on nearly every thread lately

Luckily for you in this instance both models have them.
