Is anyone else sick and tired of seeing Inflight announce 100+ models without actually releasing anything within a couple of weeks?

Shame that Aerolineas Argentinas 727 is on an Inflight200 mold.

All this is mass production.
More care about models is needed.
B 707-320, not sure what it means for inflight, they continuously refer these models as B 707-300 and that means nothing.
B 720.
"Comet IV".
Caravelle.
A 310 ...

Honestly, I am not. It takes them a couple of weeks or a few months to release them, but they are coming very soon. What I do not need is JC Wings announcing models that are being released 12 or 18
months later...

Inflight is as bad as JC Wings with regards to wait time. I much rather Inflight fix their models than release poor representations. Why their 747's, DC-8's, 727's, DC-9's with the gaps haven't been fixed is beyond me. Don't get me started on their DC-10's!

Madridista is right, inflight is fast with their releases, much faster then JC. DC10 needs a makeover for sure, so sad herpa doesn't use their mold anymore.

Jan,

I don’t really get your point. Could you please name the (obviously huge amount of) models where it took them one year (or more?) from announcement to release?

Some of their moulds would benefit from certain modifications - that’s a different topic, though.

Awesome, the Air New Zealand 737-200! Finally done in the normal 80's colours. The ZK-NAS release from JC Wings was a one-off scheme so not sure why that was done.
Brilliant stuff Inflight! Been waiting for this one!

That's interesting - just looked at some online pics of the JC example (which I have tucked away somewhere) & it looks remarkably similar to the IF200 piccie above.

What are the differences mate?

Yet more QF 747's... talk about a flooded market......

Hi 11Sqnldr, ZK-NAS has a white cheat line between the Teal and Blue. Not noticeably a big deal, but the only one in the fleet that has it.

Qantas had two 747SP38's VH-EAA name "Gold Coast/Tweed" and the other VH-EAB name " Winton" (where Qantas was founded 100 years ago). I have already stated that I don't mind re releases and I don't. Inflight have already released both rego's in all three colour schemes before. I also have VH-OEE 747-438ER in these colours released by INFLIGHT200 not long ago and VH-EBA 747-238 (with jewel wing lights and stand). For that matter I also have JCW VH-QPJ A330-300. So in actual fact out of all these Qantas releases I am only getting one, VH-OEJ " Wanala" in standard fleet colours.

You know what Inflight200 how about Qantas's first delivered Rolls Royce RB211-524D4 engines (ochre livery) VH-EBS named "Longreach" even Wearing "Official carrier of the XII Commonwealth Games Brisbane 1982 if you want. How about one of the 3 Qantas 747-238SCDs even VH-ECA,ECB or ECD. Or what about a 747-338 there are six rego's to choose from now that you Inflight200 have decent RB211 engines to put on the model. Or how about 747-238's in 1990 colours all of the fleet were RR power plants then.

So much to choose from but hey, let's go down that road of lets do everything we have done before! I am getting the air New Zealand 737.

The white cheat line on NAS was the link livery, and as you stated, the only 737 to get it The colours on that model release were awful though. Two tones of blue rather than a teal blue. Here's hoping that this time the colours are correct (fingers crossed)

Still waiting for just an actual photo of their F-28. The USAir and KLM Cityhopper were announced, what, 7 or 8 months ago now? Still no photos to see what this mold looks like.

It’s five months and we are talking about an all-new mould - which was announced shortly before the CoViD-19 shutdown in China... oh behave. 😉

Air Canada Rouge A321 missing?
Not sure but the Air Canada Rouge A321 is supposed to be released by B-Models, isn’t it?!

Don’t get me wrong, guys, I am not here to defend Inflight in any way. They do have their negative sides as well and I don’t like that pre-order policy either. But we need to face it: all this pre-order stuff is to check out market potential. Remember the L-1011 Flying Hospital? Was announced but never released and finally canceled. Guess why?

However, Inflight regularly delivers within a reasonable time frame. Comparing Inflight to JC Wings is anything but true.

I have pre ordered the Olympic 747. As a collector of Olympic models I will be the last one to complain about IF... Happy collecting!

That's a good point, the colours on the JC release stood out like dogs bollocks alongside the other's in the Air NZ fleet!

Thanks for the input lads & re Inflight's releases dates vs announcements - yes... I'm still waiting on the IF200 Kiwi P-3K announced how many months ago??

Those 737's look nice, really nice. I'm not even a large foreign airline fan (Other than British Airways, KLM, Few others) and they still look nice either way.
