Default Air Europe F100 and Air UK Bac1-11

1/200 JCwings Fokker F100.

Air Europe just started to take delivery of these not long before the collapse of ILG ( International Leisure Group) back in 1991. I am surprised given their size and spread accross Europe that more 1/200 models depicting this airline haven't been more prevelant. I know ARD did the 737-200, but they operated 737-300, 400 and the 757 which I would like to see.

This Air UK scheme was introduced after it was decided that the Blue scheme had low visability at night and prior to being repainted back into the BIA scheme for charter work. I remember flying on this as a passenger, on a lease to British Airways, between Manchester and Belfast. I know its not perfect, the engines should be white and hush kitted, but I'm happy with it.

Two very nice models. As a young load controller I used to do load sheets on that UK 1-11.

I assume these are custom models using a JC Wings Fokker 100 blank for the Air Europe. Nicely done.

Yes Mike, with rescaled 26decals, fairly easy attempt with JCwings Blank F100.

Very nice BAC 1-11. Made a KLM custom one myself several years ago. Just an interesting plane to look at.

She looks absolutely beautiful! I'm guessing this isn't a regular release? As I haven't seen it anywhere. It must be a custom job using the JC wings white mould?

You're right, I would have thought that air europe models would be more available. I have the Inflight 737-200. I would really love them to do a 1:200 737-300/400 and a 757.

Very nice! Can you tell me if you clear-coat the models after with anything?

So far I haven't clear coated any of the customs I've attempted. I haven't noticed any detriment, but I stand to be corrected by those more experience in this field.

As a young spotter many years ago the BAC 1-11's were the mainstay at Manchester Airport and my feelings then were ' not another 1-11', but now they are 'no more' I miss them and they would probably count as one of my favourites. I wish manufacturers would make better use of the BAC1-11 mould because there are so many classics still to be done, short body 200/300/400 and long body 500 versions to name a few:-
Laker
Air UK 2 schemes
Monarch 2 schemes
Dan Air 3 schemes
British Midland 2 schemes
British Island
Manx
British Caledonian
Cambrian 2 schemes
Autair
Swissair
Quebecair 2 schemes
SAS
Tarom
and the list goes on.

That looks great, is that a JC custom too? My F27 just arrived from China, I'll email you.

Yes it was a JC Wings blank. Only took 3 months to get it from buygoneworld. Implied it was in stock when in fact it was on pre-order.

Lovely. Nice to see an Air Europe F100 model. When Air Europe collapsed they ended up at Cranfield airport for a while before going on to new owners.
As you say Air Europe is another airline overlooked by model makers. Although NG Models made some nice 1/400 Air Europe B757's.

Very much agree. Maybe the most successful british passenger plane. It deserves more attention.

Nice customs.
Caught PH-ZCL/M at Cranfield just after Air Europe (UK) went bust

Great work guys!
Would love to see more 1/200 scale models such as Air Europe, Orion and BIA.
