Default My BuyGoneWorldLimited experience

On June 25th, I sent the following message to Ebay seller BuygoneWorld, both via the platform of Ebay itself, as well as via regular eMail.

I want to buy an item from your Ebay store.

Although the item description states that shipping to Belgium is possible, upon checkout, Ebay refuses me to proceed with the buying process, telling me that "this seller does not ship items to my location".
Is it possible for me to order the item below simply by this mail, and paying you using Paypal, or is it possible for you to change your seller preferences in order to enable me buying the item at your Ebay store?

Thank you very much in advance for your answer.

So far no reply whatsoever...

Do these guys even want customers? In the end, I'm glad that this is how it went. Together with what I can already read about this seller on this forum (thank you Crownvic for sharing your adventures) at least now I know that I will never trust these clowns, and never ever try to buy something from them.

Hi,

you have purchased the model - seen in purchase history waiting for payment - or is it only in your cart?
Web page of buygoneworld is down for maintenance so it is a question if they have got your direct mail.

There are more such clowns on ebay not answering shortly or even not after some contact attempts.
When using then more "direct words" regarding business policy and customer service then there will be often seen messages with an excuse - business trip/out of town, wife/daughter/mother was in hospital, etc.

Including/excluding countries/specifying correct shipping costs are a different story as many ebay sellers show this lack of knowledge. This could be seen also with commercial sellers or very experienced (?) private sellers.

The biggest problem is that because of wrong settings no purchase or bid is possible, if able to purchase but not being able to pay then seller has to provide an Ebay invoice.
If "request for total amount" is also not possible because of wrong/missing settings then
message(s!) are needed to get one invoice.
Payment for Ebay items outside Ebay is not possible and not allowed as Ebay purchase will always be open as payment and purchase could not be "connected" also "PayPal customer protection" will not be applicable for such cases as I heard.

The articles are still in the order basket. The order is still waiting for confirmation, but Ebay simply prevents me from completing the order and finally paying, with the message that the articles cannot be sent to my location.

But in fact, the problem itself is not relevant in this discussion. What matters to me more is the commercial attitude, or rather the lack thereof, due to the fact that, as a customer, I do not even receive an answer to a message in which I make it clear that I want to buy something. This feeds my suspicion to such an extent that I no longer risk buying anything, whether they can send me the article or not. What if the shipment is delayed, what if I want to return an item? ... A small risk analysis then tells me, "stay away from that shop", even though they have the one model I was looking for so hard.

I see, only in the basket so settings have to be changed for the specific item or all of them of the seller.
Shipment could be also delayed if payment/invoice providing is working properly as also
some commercial sellers simply forget the parcel in the store or in a flat or car and parcel will not find it's way to the post office or courier service.
Clicking on "item is shipped" also with providing a shipping number only tells you that a shipping label was created. If tracking shows only "label created or data provided" for some days then you have to ask/urge again by Ebay message.

A risk is with all purchases and if this is only the risk to need time, good nerves, etc. when there will be claims (parcel missing, return because of incomplete/wrong address, model damaged, etc.).
Why are some Ebay sellers or online shops gone? There were/are some sellers preferring to speak with their models but not with their or potential customers.
A diecast model "usually" cannot ask questions and cannot give answers.
Once I could check live in a shop what I have seen before in lack of communication (mail, phone).

Regards, Wolfgang

I have ordered many time from them on Ebay. Never had any issues.
If you are in doubt, just don't buy from them. No reason to make such a fuss now from your experience.

In my 40+ years of buying models prior to the internet and via the internet, I have had only one negative experience and that was with BYGOLLYWORLD.

They were dishonest with me from the start stating a model was in stock when in fact it was enroute to them thus a major disconnect and delay in shipping. This occurred last fall long before any pandemic delays...

I've bought 10+ models from BGW. They list pre-orders and sometimes don't update the items sometimes when they are in-stock.

Spencer has another job and yes it takes him a few days to return emails. His loss if you go elsewhere.

But I've not had any issues with them, even during the height of the Pandemic. Always packaged very safely.

If in doubt, don't check-out!

Never had any problems with BGW. Spence is a very kind and professional person. AAA+ communication. Sometimes is his stock not up to date. But this is not a big problem, i ask always in advance for the wished item, just to be sure it is in stock or not. Last time when i bought at his eBay store, were 3 of 4 models in stock, so i decide to pay for all 4 models and had have wait 10 days more for the fourth one to become available. After 10 days was the package shipped, few days later at my home.

Hope that helps.

I don’t have a bad word to say about Spence. He has helped me out a few times in finding some hard to find models. Really friendly and I would not think twice about buying more models from him.

I will say though at some point no matter how good a company is, no matter what they sell you will always have a bump in the road along the way. We are all human and we all have off days. Can’t all be perfect. This being said some sellers are just beyond help..... I am sure we can name one.

I’ve bought about 20 planes from him, mostly 747’s and never had a problem, he combines shipping for me but he does take forever to reply to ebay / email.

Just to refresh everyone's mind as to what happened, after searching all over for a particular Inflight model ByGoofworld was the only one who had it in stock. So I placed the order and paid for the model. A few days later I tell a friend about finding that model and he too said he wanted one identical to mine so I referred him to ByGollyWorld. Because of my referral my friend wound up ordering 3 models in total. His 3 were sent to Los Angeles immediately and arrived in around 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I questioned as to where my order was and if it was ever sent out to Florida a lot closer then CA. The answer was no. I asked why and was never given a direct answer. When I started to question his business practices and how I sent him a 3 plane order referral he abruptly refunded my money and cancelled the order. Never a thank you, never an apology no nothing. He knew he screwed up and sold the last one to my friend and would not admit it. The easy way out was to cancel the order. Just the usual BS that he only ships once every 2 weeks. A total idiot and bad business person.

Spence has always been great, with top communication. Many transactions. He also saw me through a Korean Air 744 from preorder to delivery 13 months later. Nice.

I had an experience with BuygoneWorld and it was disappointing. He seemed to have models on stock that were sold out everywhere. I also had the "this seller does not ship items to my location" annotation, but that was resolved in good communication. Actually, the man's communication is not that bad at all. He just didn't have the models he claims to have in stock. So I payed him and had to wait... and wait... and wait....
After 5 months (the reissued model was now readily available in LHS) I cancelled the order and he became angry.... So my personal lesson: ByeByegoneWorld.

It was already release and sold out from other retailers really fast and I missed that moment. So when I purchased from BGW I didn’t check that it was stated “shipping within 30 days”. So after around 10 days I have sent a message and Spence replied that the model is not in stock and he is still waiting to receive it and told me that it will be like a month or two later. Around 2~3 month later I have sent him another message, but have been told that it has not arrived yet. So I waiting for another few months and sent him a message in March again (I made purchase in July), but got the same reply. The next time I messaged him in July (exactly when 1 year passed since my purchase), but the items was not in stock yet, so in August or September (13~14 month after my purchase), I asked once again, but have been told that he doesn’t know when it will arrived and I have been told that I can wait more or get a refund. He has another 2 models, I was interested in, so I ended up buying that 2 models and he gave me a little discount for them.

I can say anything bad about communication with Spence, he replied very quick all the time and was very kind. But this way of doing business – I cant understand.

I guess because I really wanted this Korean 744, I was waiting that long patiently.

So If I ever want to buy any model from BGW, I would definitely send a message and ask if it is in stock or not. And the same I always do with the ARD, a few times I purchase models from them, but after it was cancelled saying that they don’t have the model. And many times when I saw the model on their website, I sent them an email with link to confirm if model is in stock, but was getting reply that sorry it is not and the item was removed from the website.

I had EXACTLY the same experience. I ordered two models ( both separate and on two different occasions!) through his eBay shop and I ordered them because they were showing as IN STOCK,in fact it actually said ONLY TWO LEFT, so this prompted me to buy it quickly before they sold out. Only to find out afterwards, that they were actually pre orders. The first model I ordered, waited nearly three months for and again he had the same come back. In the end, I actually had had enough of waiting so I asked Spence for a refund on both. In all fairness,he gave me the refund after I had to raise a case on bay and it didn't get nasty ( but it was building up to that!). So this is how I sum it up. For the particular reason that he has models showing as ' in stock' with actual quantities but in reality he doesn't,as these are pre orders,I will shy away from ordering from him again. Sorry but it comes across a little cleverly deceptive to say..' Here buy this now but actually you'll be waiting a few months as we don't know when's its arriving, but we'll send it to you then, even if it's in three years time!!'
I don't want to go through all that all over again,so hence my decision on this!

I read what you guys are saying about your experiences, but you have to understand that his supply of models are all shipped from China by surface mail so take longer to arrive to him before he can ship out, admittedly many of the models he lists are pre-order but if you read the descriptions on the ebay add it is clear that is the case. I've ordered many models from him, some new releases that never appeared on other sellers sites and I have every confidence in Buygoneworld. Spence has always responded quickly to my messages and on the last occasion the responses were pretty instant. His prices are very competitive, often cheaper than ARD even offer members and occasional models even have the 'Make an Offer' option, which on a pre-order is unheard of anywhere else, and his packaging is second to none. What more can I say, that's my experience.

Well this thread sure explains a lot about my "hit-or-miss" dealings with this guy/retailer. I ordered both a JAL DC10 and a JCW KLM 777 Orange Pride from him (thru ebay). After 2 months I asked about the shipping/tracking info as it showed shipped but no added info. He initially claimed that he was sure they had shipped sometime ago but he would look into it. No further communication from him until I discovered that he had canceled the order for the JAL DC10 and issued a refund. He then advised me that the JCW KLM bird was a preorder as stated in the listing (and rightly so, the preorder statement was there). But the suggestion was that he had them and as he had dated the listing as a preorder with anticipated delivery/shipping in Sep/Oct of 2019 I expected/assumed he actually had these in his possession to ship. When I suggested to him that he edit/amend the listing to show a current update as to expected delivery, he refused and suggested that it would make matters worse and generally was none of my business as to how he maintained his ebay listings (para-phrased from memory).

I think where he states the number available and number sold, that is the number he has ordered from his supplier and will be available to sell and the 'sold' is how many of those have been pre-ordered by buyers. His deliveries are always a few weeks after ARD who gets theirs flewn in by Airmail, whilst his arrive arrive on a slow boat from China.

I purchased an INFLIGHT 200 B789ANA01 787-9 from this seller through Ebay on 27th May this year.

The item arrived here in the antipodes a few weeks later, carefully packaged and in new condition.

I left good feedback for the seller and received good feedback from the seller.

I did not have any text communications with the seller.

I will be interested to hear the outcome of this problem.
