Default New GJ200 KLM MD11

I did not know it was released. Sadly, it is not Amy Johnson, I think it might be Ingrid Bergman. Can anyone confirm?

Hope to receive her this week, she is a stunner and the best release so far for me this year.

I have this and I really like it. I flew her so many times to JRO/DAR... but also all her sisters... I want a Maria Montessori model as I went to a Montessori school.

Picked up KCK last weekend. Its parked next to HM KCE. I think its about time to start a KLM Douglas tribute in pictures. KCA would make that tribute complete, so maybe wait a little longer

Sorry, seems like GJ never saw an MD-11 in real life.... especially the frontgear wheels is way oversized, and the cockpit printing is a joke.

Maybe youre right on the front landing gear, but the cockpit windows seem to be spot on imo.

The two center windows are way too narrow and maybe the whole cockpit should be a little bigger. Yes, these are ONLY models (can't hear that anymore) but HG offers a better or at least equal quality here.

Maybe GJ can get their hands on the SMA mould.

... the ultimate MD-11. Too bad they're out of business.

SMA MD11 was very good. Read somewhere here that inflight tried to obtain theyre mold but weren't succesfull in doing so. Wonder if that mold is destroyed..

You are right on the front wheels. They are to big. The cockpit windows could be better but from the side it is 'ok' to me.

European Collector a quote below from someone on this forum who assisted in the original SMAC MD-11 mould commenting on the KLM MD-11...

"Honestly I'm flabbergasted GJ actually DID make the late-style flap hinges for the mold. They're not a very common thing on the -11."

So its evident they have seen an MD-11 in real life..

Stick to what you do best and post a recommendation for a manufacturer to make some obscure no sale airliner from Europe dating back to the 80's..

You have seen the AA MD-11 by SMA and GJ in direct comparison. Judge for yourself which one is better. Who cares about gimmicks on the wings when the front of the model does not look like how it should. Ok, maybe saying the guys at GJ probably never saw an MD-11 was not appropriate....but you have to accept that there are manufacturers offering better products than GJ does. PS: there where way more obscure suggestion being made than mine. And when you look over the edge of the plate you notice there is a market for these airlines - Face it. If that wasn't so, Inflight and Aeroclassics would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. Ignoring a market almost completely does not necessarily mean that it does not exist.

I think it turned out to be a very nice and well proportioned model. Even the extended bulge is there on the tail engine, which is typical for the later manufactured MD-11's. This makes it a nice addition to the HM model I already have.

I own every SMAC MD-11 ever made and it is a very nice heavy model..
