My Transatlantic Workhorses

One of only couple of collection criteria I have for my 1/200s is aircraft I've flown Transatlantic on between Newark or JFK to usually Heathrow or Manchester.

Often that has meant a pitstop in Dublin, Reykjavík or Heathrow along the way but a few photos to illustrate.

GJ200 BA 747-400 JFK-LHR (Daytime flight)

I have the GJ 200 United 767-300 in the new colours on its way which I flew on over the Christmas period, I also need to find the photos of the Delta and United 757-200s as well.

Thanks for looking!

Pretty planes. Always good to have only a few collecting criteria. Keeps the hobby affordable.;)

Thanks all, yes try to keep the collection criteria strict on these 1/200's the only other two I have are Aircraft of scheduled/regular service into Liverpool Airport in the UK from the 1990s to present day and the Buffalo Airways Fleet from Ice Pilots. I have a few more criteria in 1/400 as they take up a little less space!

Latest addition to the collection GJ200 United 767-300 in the new livery, flew this from EWR to MAN for the 2019 Christmas Holidays, will likely be the last now it looks like United have permanently dropped the Newark-Manchester route.

Great collection. I like your criteria too, it makes sense.

With regards to UA and Manchester, there is talk about them resuming MAN flights in June next year. I suppose they'll see how the next year goes. It would make sense though, as the EWR flights out of MAN were a real money earner for them. They were frequently overbooked in both Business and Economy, with the holds full of cargo and post office mail. Tickets weren't cheap with them either, so yields must have been good.

Thanks, I hope it comes back next year, I'd heard the same and also was never a cheap flight when I booked, so often I ended up going the 1 stop route unless the company was paying for the trip. It was always extremely busy when it was a 757 route and even with the 767 they seemed to fill it pretty easily, I had wondered with United looking to retire the 757s and potentially some of the 767s was it coming down to just not having the right aircraft for the route. The 787-8s would seem to work, and the A321XLRs would certainly be fine but still a way off.
