Default Silver Classics

What to do with a 1/200 scale Silver Classics Fokker Friendship F27. Just add a few Jersey European decals to make it less naff.

This Convair looks good, working on Silver Classics models is not easy but it is worth trying.

Do not apply primer on the chrome plated surface, it doesn't work !
First you will have to remove the chrome plating and you will discover a very hard pink metal, the one which is used to make coins.

The rest is a matter of patience but has nothing to do with white metal, plastic or resin.

Jean Pierre.

Nicely done Jean Pierre.

I have not one but two Fokker F-III's waiting for an original paint job.
The first one, I messed up.
For the second one, I am still thinking about the best way to get the chrome of.

What did you use to get the silver of Jean Pierre, or was is just a fine sanding paper?

Looks stunning Jean Pierre! And Marc, very curious what the result is gonna be. Keep us posted! Is the little Fokker still available somewhere?

Dremel with the appropriate tools can be very useful for our hobby.

Don't forget protective mask and goggles.

The propeller, landing gear and stabilizers will probably need to be removed.
Maybe on this model there is a screw to disassemble the wing from the fuselage.

Jean Pierre.

Thanks JP.
I have a dremel as well, but have not dared to use it on the little F-III. I will give it a try. Does not look like many parts can be removed.
