Default 36th B747 Landed! JAL DE Family B747-446D!

Hey all

Here a little surprise
my 36th B747, a JAL B747-446D, like the pink Disney jet this one is light blue and it has characters like from 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, Dumbo , Bambi, Pluto with Mickey & Mini Mouse up front and some others, the arts are fantastic and well being a Lion King fan as well I have something perfect to fit this beauty.

But first the pics of course, and on with the box

So yeah it's Light Blue , quite the opposite of Pink, so as my JAL set goes it's JAL Dream Express 02 Sweet & JAL Dream Express 03 Family just a must have these two.

Here the pics of the model, JC Wings did an other good job with this one:

So here the rest, as you see this one has a different artwork than the pink one, but the same Disney style which is very cool

Here the stand shots:

And the final display:

And for the song that goes with this one, well it's about family and seeing the Lion King is part of it I found this very fitting:

The Australian Lion King Cast sings The Circle of Life in QF B737-838 on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney

Hy thanks, yeah this one wasn't easy to find I admit, but well worth the challenge on finding one and that was affordable as well
The Scale Model Store in Haarlem was the solution for this beauty.

Just time fora break now, just need to focus on other things for the meantime, but I'll always be around for a chat here, observing what you guys have bought and added and I'll surely leave a reply here and there , not to worry

Another one. That's three touch downs in a week! Congratulations on the finding two JDE Express birds which are on the hard to find list now.

Yeah a Douglas DC-4 vs a Boeing 747-400 and the scale is accurate as diff went, pretty crazy right, personally I never expected that a DC4 was that tiny :X

Well many of my models are hard to impossible to find these days, it seems I bought most just in time, but this trip has come to an end for now, just have other things to attend to for now, as for he glass company I don't see them going in business yet for quite some time and the space I'd need to keep all the boxes I don't have that so I decided that this 36th B747 is my ultimate last.

The collection is what I wanted for it to become and for that part does it all, but not to worry I'll be around every now and then, it's been a fantastic ride

Instead of glass shelves have you thought about arcrylic shelves with finished edges? That is what I use to double my space on the IKEA DeTolf shelves. It looks like glass but weighs far less and is $10 a shelf for the company to make for me. They are cutting 80 more for me now and I will have 16 shelves per case when done. There’s a fellow in England who 3D prints these awesome brackets as well. Anyway food for thought!

A great way to celebrate a birthday, an aircraft in aircraft livery. I wish we would see it more often. In this JAL example, I like how the windows line up.

Hmm nice idea and thanks for replying to this subject

it's that I prefer glass, it's the real deal for me, I am very strict to mind when it comes to such things, I put in thousands of euros in this collection and since I can afford glass it's just a neater finish in the end, it costs more but it will look nicer

Not to worry though, I have tons of patience, just got other things on my mind for now, 36 diecast B747's it's been a nice ride collecting all of those, the challenges it was all worth it.
But now I have other things to do before I return to this expensive but exciting and challenging hobby, everything at it's time, that has been my method for years and it works.

It would have been my favourite KLM 100 years livery, but that ship has sailed (or rather that plane has flown).

That is a fantastic livery! Is that a 1/200 and if so do you know the manufacturer? I would love to hunt one of those down!

This model has been discussed here a few years ago. At one point there were several for sale. Prepare to have deep pockets...

Not really worth getting for an overpriced amount tbh, greedy capitalists ruin such things for us collectors, best to do is find a shop that has one in old stock and go form there, or just buy from a healthy minded person that doesn't rip you off for high overrated amounts.
Greedy sellers are a problem when it comes to such things.

In the end you can't have everything.
