Default My KLM 747 fleet

Just like with the real airlines, this is a good time to do some maintenance to the fleet, in my case a cleaning. A nice opportunity to get the 747 fleet together and try to take some (group) pics. I expect to receive one more, but then my 747 collecting days are probably over.

In the pictures are; PH-BUA (200), PH-BUB (200B), PH-BUH (200B M and 200B SF SUD Cargo (custom made)), PH-BUK (200B SUD), PH-BUU (300M), PH-BFT (400M new livery), PH-BFV (400M and 400M click livery), PH-BFL (400), PH-BFY (400M Asia livery), PH-CKB (400ERF Cargo new livery) and PH-CKC (400ERF Cargo)

Hello Marc.

Great line up !
It's true that when inviting so many guests around your table you need a large one.

Beautiful, thank you for sharing your pictures.

Jean Pierre.

Fantastic fleet collection. Great to see them all together. Sadly, a sight that will be no more in the real world.

Now that is a table fit for the Queen, all of them. Great stuff it's the whole history right there. I will have to line up my Qantas 747's, but it's winter here and not much sun. Anyhow, great photos and well placed for the shoot. Thanks for the post Marc. Awesome

Great to see them all together Marc! Beautiful line up! Nice to have this much "Delfts blauw" on the table. @ Steve, looking forward to your 747 line up from Qantas!

Yes more B747's!

Very nice set you have there man!, where do you normally have them on display? I hope a nice dust tight glass cabinet or so :sun:

B747's need to be on display than buried in a box imo
PH-BUK is still on display at the Aviodrome in Lelystad, The Netherlands.

My parents & I will be going there in a month's time, we were able to get free tickets from an old friend, always ideal

Thanks for your kind comments!
I enjoyed putting them out there. First time I saw the fleet together this way myself.

I have a separate room in which I display my models, but not in a dust tight environment, just several cabinets of Ikea Billy's. The smaller Billy's actually display the 747 quite well. Each 747 fits nicely on one shelf. Adding shelfs makes them versatile too.

Thinking about upgrading to some Ikea glass cabinets, mainly because of some custom made models which are a little bit more valuable.

Such a shame KLM did not order the -8... She would have looked great in blue!

What if they ordered the A380. That would be interesting.

I am afraid we're looking at a prolonged era of twins at KLM. I will have to find ways to motivate myself in this hobby through the next 20 or so years.

Fantastic collection Marc! Seeing all those tails lined up, is almost like how Schiphol looks these days (although only a few of those tails at Schiphol are 747 now)

That was exactly my inspiration Thijs (apart from a need to clean the shelves)

The news is that the three remaining combies may stay in service a little while longer because of the needed main deck cargo capacity. They currently shuttle back and forth between Amsterdam and Shanghai via Seoul, pretty much daily. Indeed no more pax flights sadly.

I was on the last flight from and to Mexico City on March 28th. On the way to mex in 1A and back in 10A. (WBC was for the crew returning). I have been on 747 my whole life.. and had to take the final flights as a passenger.

Love this collection. I have just one.. but will get more in the future!
