Default My Air France fleet Seventh shelf

The A 350 is missing, Aviation Megastore is keeping the model stored for me.

JOON was an AF subsidiary, a low cost airline created in 2013, it no longer exists the aircraft were returned to AF.

Nice shots JP. Thanks or you photos of your impressive Air France and Air Inter & Joon. It takes a great deal of time setting up. Handle with care and I am sure the models got a clean too. Great stuff JP thanks for sharing.

Thank you Steve and Jay, the models are very nice in the cabinet but light was a problem to take good pictures.

The cabinet is just behind, in the back ground ...

Lovely set of airframes. I had to stick to 400 to fleetbuild due to quantity.
But happy memories spotting as a kid at Heathrow and Gatwick seeing Air France Air Inter and Rousseau Aviation. The Deux-Ponts has a place in my heart...jeez that was 50 years ago.

I have in my mind that Air Charter used to be Yvonne Char....... something but can't find any evidence

Very nice collection indeed. Does your cabinet fit the 380? Mine not unfortunately.

Hi Baerke, if you are referring to the Detolf, yes a 380 would fit either on a stand or on wheels. You still have space for at least 2 narrowbodies or one wide body. As long as the 380 is on a stand/wheels, the other models should be on a stand/wheels or vice versa.

Magnificent collection, Jean Pierre! It's amazing how varied AF's fleet has been.
I have a couple of questions.
Is AF aware of your collection? Seems to me they would be interested in doing a promotional photo shoot.
Also, any possibility of making a book using your collection as a basis. I have always enjoyed your posting of your models along with the history.

The main problem is that my cabinets are in a small room where I have a huge oak desk weighing a ton.
I have very little space to make a decent photo.
Also at the back of my main cabinet there is a mirror, it is not an advantage because what I have on the shelves looks very messy.
To make things worse, everything is reflected in the glass doors and the mirror.

This is why I finally took all the models out of the cabinet.

I attach a picture showing the problem.

The access to the Detolf cabinets is much easier.

The black thing on my desk is the Captain's side stick of an Airbus, of course, it is a copy.

Nice Air France fleet, pretty cool.

I aam running out of space for mine and therefore stopped buying the latest releases (A350 or B787). I'll have to do this when I set-up new shelves.

Looks good Jean Pierre.
Thanks for taking the effort to take some shots.
Place is our biggest enemy!
I see you added some shelfs to the standard Detolf cabinets.

Still displaying my models in Ikea Billy's. Thinking about replacing those with cabinets I can close.

Fantastic pictures of all 7 shelves. Hard to pick a favorite as they all document different parts of AF history.

Dan06 has a point. AF are proud of their history and I am sure would be interested... maybe an article for the in-flight magazine if we ever get back to flying again.

Challenges aside, that really is a lovely overview of your collection. Much more flushed out than mine. Great presentation.

Thank you DanO6, the AF Museum is aware of my collection but they have no interest in model aircraft.

The man who could be in charge of this and make a decision seems to have a very limited knowledge of English and is unable to discuss with the mainstream manufacturers to commission a model.

The release of the Transall by Herpa looks like a miracle.

I started discussing this opportunity with Herpa but I had no mandate to do that.
Then I talked to the AF Museum, they did not day NO but they did not move forward.
Finally, after many months, Herpa made the decision to launch the model and the AF museum was very happy to announce its release ...

Miracles take place only once.

Jean Pierre.

Jean Pierre-

Thank you for such a complete inventory of your incredible collection! Lots of my old favorites there- especially in the early prop liners- but also some new surprises. I will need to study more closely.

Are we still lacking a Mercure? Wasn't Wojtek hinting at that?

Be well, stay safe.

Hello Danny.

Thank you for your kind words.

The Mercure was Chris's project but too few people were interested to move forward.
Chris made the decals and suggested to buy the model made by PRINTEDPLANES.

From what I see it is not bad at all, no dihedral on the stabilizers so it is the prototype but it can be easily modified, trailing edges need to be improved as well as the landing gear doors but it could be a good base for something quite convincing.

Stay safe, don't drink bleach ...

Jean Pierre.
