Default The Russians are coming.....

Finally in the Groundhog days of stuck at home boredem, got round to cleaning the Ikea Detlof on the landing which had become a dumping ground for random models bought...
Spent the morning searching the Loft and Box room, to put all my 1/200 Russian models together in it. 2x exceptions are the Mig25 out with a broken gear and a missing (AWOL) Herpa Aeroflot Antonov AN24
I suppose I should say the pictures are X-rated as they show a big C*ck....

GREAT ! !

I have a few of them but I cannot compete with you.
Fellow DAC members having so many of these old classic models (Historic, WM ...) are certainly very rare.

Congratulations.

Jean Pierre.

great collection some of those look familiar! I wish I never sold my Historic Models Yak 42 big mistake. Is the Aeroflot IL 76 from Historic as well or is it from Avia models? I believe the AN-124 is from PCM models..

Thanks. The Yak42 turned up on ebay at random. IL 76 is Avia but annoyed as Aeroflot Titles tampo is wearing off from packing. The AN 124 have posted before and not PCM but is resin.

Aviaction, I hope you or anyone else does not interpret me as stealing this thread, I just wanted to compare as I find it eerie that our collections are near identical.. however you are clearly the winner with a lot more diversity! Our fellow DACer DC5 is another Russian nut job too!

Great collection of classics!
At times it's difficult to stick to my collecting criteria. This is such a time.

Not at all I think it was your posting that prompted me to put them all together. I have found IL96 on ebay Russia as a kit or ready built.

Have happy memories of Heathrow watching the Tu104s and Il18s and later stuff. Then seeing the An22 and AN225 at East Midlands a few year back.

What an amazing collection of Soviet/Russian metal!

For anyone getting tired of modern stuff, just look to the past and to the east.
I doubt there was ever a Russian phrase equivalent to "tube with two engines"

A long time ago, a few metal Soviet Air Force IL-76s were done by Historic Aircraft Models/CAM. Red 10 Transport, Red 11 Tanker and a AEW A-50 Red 51.
The casting has been re-done by Sky Classics/ARD but as "civies".

Avia Boss did the IL76 in Ukrainian Air Force. Solid Plastic like Herpa models.
They occasional pop up on ebay...
