Luckily we still have the models! Yesterday a western global MD11 landed at AMS. Been 4 years since the last MD11 had departed.

True, but I'm dying to see the new 777-9X take to the skies soon!

I'm with you on that sentiment. Luckily, we will still have freighters around the world flying 747s for some time. Hoping for a future where queens may be relevant again. One can only dream...

All these B 747s and other multi-engine aircraft will be sorely missed.

I am glad to have known these beautiful aircraft and to have them in my cabinets.

I also remember the Comet I that I saw in person in 1953, it was yesterday ...

Beautiful KLMs! I wish I could've flown on one of their 747s before being removed from service. At least collectors have a LOT of models available to us!

Me too. The last KLM airliner I flew on was a DC-8-55CF

Classic airframes in a very classic livery. I always enjoy(ed) passing through Schipol and seeing these colors. The walk from the gate to the exit seemed like miles, but the view was always good.

Looks very nice Tony. Think we will see this one in the future. Two extra engines wouldn't hurt though

Thank you all for liking the photo. It took a few hours to customize, and it really does look sleek in KLM blue!

What I like about the new livery is that they added blue instead of minimizing it like many airlines do (mostly the basic color is white). Makes the klm birds really stand out from the rest imo.

Nice modification Tony and not unimaginable that it will eventually fly for KLM. As long as oil is needed to make airplanes fly, two engines will likely be the norm.

Great work, Tony. I knew it wasn't a photo of an actual aircraft (I looked up the registration number) but didn't realise you reworked the photo! A pity KLM hasn't ordered any 777x but maybe they will.

As to the new livery as EC has mentioned, I'm still not a huge fan of it but at least they kept the blue with white vertical stabiliser.

Thank you kindly. If there's one airline that I wish to see using the 777X, that would be KLM. Since they have been such a huge supporter of the Queen for so many decades, it is only fitting that they find themselves flying the next in line. 🤞🏻
