Default 1:200 IL:86 x 2

These 2 are old classics from Historic Aircraft Models in diecast. Crude by todays standards but beyond rare! I'm glad to have them back again..

IL:86 at home with IL-62 and TU-154 friends too...

Very nice to see the il86 in 1:200. Would be awesome if a modern manufacturer would take the risc and brought those birds out. Great to see these pics crownvic! Just wondering, how big is the il86 compared to let's say a 767 or 330?

Very nice indeed. I used to have the HAM Aeroflot ‘CCCP era’ Il86 and Il62 as well as the Interflug and Cubana Il62.

Just gotta love the Ruski stuff.

Would love an IL96.
still missing a Tu204 along with the Il96
and we will finally see a Herpa IL62

That’s the baby! I don’t think they did the 96, or was it listed by HAM but never made? Can’t remember after all this time. I’d break my no further acquisitions rule for a Herpa Il62M!

Yes they did do an IL 96 in current colors however even though the tail on the IL96 is taller historic models really messed that one up by making the tail too tall. I sold mine for that reason .. this is the best alternative

So they did do the 96, interesting. I have the Pacmin 1/100 96 in those colours. Great pics BTW.

I believe the IL-96 along with a matching TU-154 were made by a manufacturer in Russia and sold on board. They were snap fits with stand. Mine on gears was customized by an ex DACer B-16707

I have recently developed an interest in Soviet era aircraft. After doing some research I have found what I consider an excellent though not die cast alternative in 1/200
There is a Russian company called PAS models and PAS decals. Their kits are resin and are available in a number of airlines.
In addition you can buy them from the supplier in Russia or on eBay for $59-77. Assembled kits made to order on eBay is $200 obo.
For some reason I cannot attach a link, but you should be able to find them.

A nice pair. Thanks for sharing. Unlikely to be done again in metal. HAM did 3 IL-86s these 2 plus Aeroflot CCCP-86104. The IL-96 followed, have seen
pics of an Aeroflot RA-96005 (new colours) & Russian Govt RA-96102. I believe there was an Aeroflot RA-? (old scheme) and Domodedovo but haven’t
seen any photos of these 2.

The IL-86 has always reminded me of a “beefed up” 707 on steroids & odd to see a wide-body with the slim old tech, turbofans. Take care & don’t drop
them, didn’t I read that due to size the fuselage was cast in several parts.

Those are very cool. Does this fit in the conversation of selling low only to buy back again high? Seem like a topic not too long ago.....
