Well, as both B747's, IF200 and JCWINGS/GJ200, have their plus and minus, I decide to go for both ot them (like these ones, which joins me to day (the -300 in the morning and now the -400 in the afternoon)
PS: And regarding the WUNALA, of course I have both versions too (here a picture from the 1:1 version of of the second release, taken from my office)
This is like choosing a favourite child there are so many to choose from.
For me I can narrow it down to 2.
By the narrowest of margins my favourite 747 of all time is KLM in 90's livery, followed closely by CP Air , Orange is Beautiful
I am talking about real aircraft not models.
I had 2 posters on my wall during my college days.
One was a KLM 747 cockpit, the other is the CP Air image shown below. My class mates either hated or loved the CP, there was no middle ground, it was about a 50-50 split.
Curious to hear your opinions regarding CP.
CP Air is my number one all time favouite followed by Wardair delivery scheme.
Your CP Air picture is the standard postcard print, but you say you had a poster, if so where did you get it and how much do you want for it. I have a poster, but it is in black & white.

Wardair Canada probably the best airline ther ever was.
Unfortunately I no longer have it, I believe I threw it away as it was damaged.
How I got it was an interesting story. Back in the day these posters were on the wall of most travel agencies, my friend was and still is an aviation nut. He called various travel agents until he found one that had a couple of spares. Promptly dropped everything and secured a couple. Alas his poster ended up in the trash as well , major brain fart it know.
We also took, then had enlarged, photos of Wardair 747's and DC-10's on short final on their approach into YOW, rwy 32.
My absolute favorite would have to be the Philippine Airlines 747-200. Not only did I get to fly on one, but was always one of the most majestic sights at the LAX international terminal. I hope for another opportunity to add one to my collection. Maybe Gemini Jets will make one with extended flaps!
This one is a 747-400 and not at LAX. I love how the tail is illuminated at night.

A real tough question, one I have been thinking about for a few days now since I saw this thread. I was first leaning towards Qantas very first 747-438 VH-OJA copies made by both GJ & INFLIGHT200 of final flight. Then, my favour was drifting to the 747SP what a aircraft a short small 747 that always captured my eye as they flew over my house on short finals, even though Qantas only ever purchased two of them. (Koren delivery colours are very quite something special too, in fact, probably the best ever worn on a 747SP). Then I was leaning towards Qantas last 747. A 747-438ER VH-OEJ.
I have finally decided on Qantas very first 747 as my absolute favorite.
Qantas original order was for four 747-100 series aircraft placed in October of 1967. That order was later cancelled and replaced by four 747-200's series in June of 1969. This first Qantas 747-2 38 was allocated Boeing Block number RB001. The aircraft rolled off the 747 production line at Everett Plaine field on June 10 1971. It first took to the skies on July 8 1971. The aircraft entered the Australian register as VH-EBA on the 30th of July 1971 and on that day it was also christened and named " City of Canberra".
December of last year I was looking for posters or anything that would complement my inflight 200 copy model number IF742QFA7421P on ebay. I typed in Qantas 747B in the search field on Ebay and could not be believe my luck. Qantas released and sold a record of music played on the aircraft that was popular at that time.
Also Vinyl is making a big come back globally right now. While I haven't had a record player for years, I only am familiar with the the Hawaii Five-O track on this album. The rest I have no Idea. I was 11 years old when this came out. The back of the album cover also shows what Qantas offered on the upper deck. It was called the Captain Cook Lounge. A bar, and big bench seats with no seat belts I am guessing. Pan Am had something equivalent. I also understand that Pan Am also originally requested Boeing put in a grand piano on the top deck before Boeing said "No way". If GJ would like to release VH-EBA flaps up & down on Qantas 100th anniversary It would make my year and a lot of other Qantas collectors.
Here is VH-EBA my absolute favorite.
Inflight200 had jewel landing lights in the wings at the time of manufacture of this model and the daylight or flash I can't remember picks this feature up
and what about the back of the album cover. Well it's a time capsule. Qantas flight attendant, Captain Cook luxury lounge most likely (before the first CATS lawsuit) and before Qantas realised they could make more money by fitting out the top deck with first class seating. First Class was introduced to the world Airline market by Qantas when the 747-2's were refitted.
If you would like to read what's on the back - here you go
There you go. Qantas has inflight entertainment on the 747B. Wow, how times have changed !
Ah yes! a very nice on that SAA B747-444 with the Springbok Livery from 1984, very cool choice!
Personally I too love that livery on the SAA B747-444, Gemini Jets 200 released that very livery for their new SAA B747-444 I believe
@ Wardair
Yeah Wardair's classic livery always looks great, Air Canada was what followed I believe.
Wardair's B747-211B's hold a good memory
@ Seven-Eight-Seven
Also a nice choice, yet their classic livery still nails it more for me though
@ AussieJets
Love that QF B747-238B VH-EBA "City of Canberra" Steve a gorgeous model for sure!
When IF200 did crystallized Landing Lights a shame they dropped that cool feature though.
My COL B747-124 Black Meatball Pre-Production Sample also has them, great details are always welcome for that part
@ MDC11
Also very nice choices there can never go wrong with any of those

After much deliberation, I decided that this one is mine. A hint of Landor, and with the fantastic Caledonian lion. G-BMGS Caledonian 747 Left by Ukjohna, on Flickr
i take it this is the custom your friend did? Beautiful! Somebody needs to produce this for the masses imo. NG when they get around to doing a 747-100/200 for sure.
This was the second B747-100 built and that Pan Am World Airways hired out to Air Zaïre at the time, it wore the registration N747QC and the nick name Air Zaïre used was Mont Zoho
Very nice record Steve! Goes nice with that superb model. Have you got a record player to play it?

Thanks Tom. I do but it was mothballed or decommissioned some years ago. In fact, I can count the times used on one hand. We are now able to purchase digital record players with SD card slots and USB slots to record our records. Not to forget they now come with Bluetooth to connect to speakers without wires! I think I might get me one of those and some Bluetooth speakers. Time to give this new to me, very old record a spin
I still have my Yamaha direct drive turntable. My son has it set-up in his room after I mothballed my system. I had to order a new refoam kit for the ESM2 speakers that go with the system. Was very easy to do! They sound like new!
These airline memorabilia items are nice to have to go along with our planes!
Nice to see some audio lovers here, am too myself. Still have three record players in service

Wow, there are numerous personal favorites in the B747 fleet! The more vintage, the better. At this moment I am working on 1/144 PH-BUA in the white top KLM livery (flaps extended, check the custom section in a few months). But the overall over-the-top fantastic livery is the exotic 'Orange Pumpkin' livery of Braniff. And especially on the 747SP!
awsome, I just love it!
Unfortunately I don't have the 1/200 diecast, but if you forgive me: I do have a 1/144 custom made version...
cheers, VJ

Ok, this is definitely one of my top four 747's. It was a very lucky find on eBay last year, in perfect condition and even got it for a pretty good price too.
JFox Lufthansa 747 D-ABYC
Ah yes the Braniff International B747SP-27 , very nice that one as orange as things can get they surely got that right
Inflight 200 made these if memory serves me well, I may know some retailers that may have this aircraft in diecast, if I find something I'll gladly send you a DM
@ AirCal
that was Lufthansa at their best man livery wise the cheatline and the polished belly and the indigo colored tailfin with the yellow circle with the indigo swan logo in it.
These are extremely hard to find that I did find out , nice LH B747-130 tho, looks very nice

Breaking news: A few minutes ago, it was officially announced that KLM will withdraw its last B747 at the end of March 2020. This is more than a year ahead of schedule. It is highly questionable whether there will be room for an official farewell.
Thus comes a sudden farewell to an era of almost 50 year reliable B747 operation within KLM.
...but in honer of the 747 I added an IF200 Aer Lingus 747 OC in need of some TLC. She is missing starboard side antenna and I felt it needed to be saved. Once she lands and is towed to the hangar she will be as good as new!

Didn't I see that on eBay? I saw the broken antenna and backed off, but I am glad it went to a good home.
Usually a 4 penny finish nail cut down and fashioned with dremel tool if I don't have one of the removable ones Gemini has/had. Usually best when the broken part is with the plane, but not the case with this one. Some of the custom makers, don't like the thickness of the antenna anyway and remove them placing a much thinner needle used to hem garments. That is what was used by the maker of the Air Zaire pictured further up in this thread.
JC Wings and Inflight models (J FOX, B BOX, W Box ...) are all very good.
The 20 year-old Herpa Premium B 747-400s are simply fantastic, just have a look at the landing gear and all the rest ...
I bought long time ago the ANZ model, I should have bought the KLM too.
More recently, I acquired the JC Wings AF F-GITJ last flight Mexico Paris with flaps down.
Excellent ... I also bought, same configuration, the 1998, Coupe du Monde de Foot Ball.
I have 11 AF B 747s, all different, I love them all, they bring back to my mind very good memories.
I know, I did not really answer your question, each of us has his own answer.
Side note : Before I am getting too old, I would like to see the same interest for B 707-120s and - 320s.
Jean Pierre.
I guess I have to agree with Jean Pierre regarding the Herpa Premium.
Snowghost is correct! 744 is okay, but I don't buy into these retro releases on newer air frames. They are pretty neat, but not like the true classics even though she is depicted on a Queen!
Love em all but no question which ones my favourite.
Been a Maiden fan since Day 1, seen the 747 up close when they were here and have seen the band live a million times. This was also my very first diecast airliners I bought when it was released.

To be honest, there is no absolute favorite, it is a matter of taste and collecting criteria.
The Flaps down version of the B 747-400 is exceptionally good.
With colorful liveries such as KLM, Cathay, United, BA just to name a few, you have a fantastic model, it just depends on your collecting criteria.
That said, I love my AF models ... and my Herpa Premium Air New Zealand.

Jean Pierre.
I'd love to own a flaps-down KLM (though not in the new livery) to go with my Virgin Atlantic. Prices have gone up so much though. I'd like to pull the trigger and pre-order the house livery L-1011 but £127 is a lot of money. (Being American living in the UK, I'm constantly converting pounds to dollars when trying to decide on purchases these days.)
I'll always love the Herpa Premium models. I've owned two: KLM and ANZ. Always wanted the PA B722.
Hey all cool to see my "What is your Absolute favorite B747?" thread still running!
Yeah them Herpa Premiums are nice if I had one I'd send mine to Brad Shinn for a proper Flaps Down mod tho, thereby making the best PVC model a tad better.
But for their coin a shame they were not made of aluminum for example, can't have everything I guess!
An other favorite B747 of mine is this one, some of you surely may remember: Boeing 747-312
Ansett Australia Limited "Southern Cross Livery 1997-2007"
VH-INJ "Sydney 2000 01" ✈️
Scale 1:200
JC Wings / BBOX
I love all my children
Recently another one was born.
Wich one did you get Marc? BFA?

Yes I did Tom, nice looking plane with the two tone blue tail. I noticed last week BFD in KLM Asia colors is now also on offer by Inflight, but I have decided to skip that one.
Very nice the BFA, ordered it too. Weak as I am, couldn't resist the BFD original colors too. Think the KLM 747's are allmost complete in 1:200 now exept the original asia "click" and the blue six window upper deck -200??
