Default Experiences with Aviation Megastore

Hey, i'd like to know if anybody here already had experiences in replacing a damaged model sold by them? I recently received Aeroclassics200 Air Canada's and Eastern's -61. (i'll post some pics later) The AC DC-8 was i perfect condition, but the Eastern had a ditched nosecone and a displaced engine. So i decided to send it back to get a replacement for it.

From my experiences Aviation Megastore has a very generous return policy.
If a replacement is still available they will also usually ship it to you.

It is not the first time i ordered a model from them, but at the moment i got a very intersting discussion going on, in which i was suggested to keep the damaged model and getting the "replacement" shipped with the next order. And to me it was a little unusual to get a model as a "replacement" while keeping the model i want to be replaced. I asked myself if that is their common procedure of dealing with replacing a model when - like they said - could not sell anymore. So to say they deal with it as a write-off, which imho could lead to a problem if this happens more often.

Are you located in Europe?
I am located in Germany. When I requested a replacement from them, the procedure usually was, that they send me a UPS return label with which I can send back the "damaged" model and they send a replacement with my next order.
So I don't think they usually let you keep the damaged model. But maybe it's different if you are located outside Europe?

I also am located in Germany. I once ordered an S7 A321NEO in 1/400 - what i received was the regular 321. But it wasn't damaged. At that time there was no difficulty sending it back. And he procedure was like you described it. Maybe there is a difference between models you didn't order and damaged models (as they said that the model above cannot be sold anymore).

I once had to return a Skymarks Supreme MD80 to them which had paint finish issues. They were brilliant about it, and in fact they sent a replacement before my returned model could possibly have reached them. Great service.

Neil.

I also can confirm the excellent service (as i was offered a replacement at once), but what i stumbled across, was that i have to keep the damaged model to save the shipping costs as they told me. Which i also can understand on one hand, but - have you ever imagined throwing a model (defective or not) into the trash can?

A lot of models, I ordered from them, arrived damaged but to return them was never a problem. I prefer Aviation Center Berlin though because they check 1/200 models before shipping them.

If you don't have room for it I'll happily give you my shipping address. I would even pay the shipping cost 😛
