Default Gemini B727-200 future releases

I was just on GJ's website looking for other information when I noticed in their "Future Release Previews" not one, but TWO upcoming B727-200 releases. One of them is a TWA solid titles twin-stripes G2TWA343 and the other is a UA "Friendship" blue titles G2UAL346. Did I miss this announcement? I've been wanting the TWA for YEARS because I didn't like IF200's version. If I'm not mistaken Jet-X produced the UA years ago, along with a black titles version (and IF200 produced a black titles version, too). As much as I'd love to buy both, by the time these are released I'll be a student living in London and won't have the income or space to display them. Gemini, I applaud you for releasing more models of the beautiful B727-200! Now, how about the full line of Braniff "Flying Colors" B722s seeing as the Jet-X versions are long sold out and expensive when they're available?

I have been watching the TWA-722 too for a considerable time now being announced there. Seems the "Future Release Previews" are rather a loose list of intended models without concrete date of realization. (The same for KLM-MD11 or TAP-A310)
Patience is needed...

It’s been up there since the fall or whenever they first started to do it. It seems like most of the others that were first listed have been released so hopefully soon.

According to EZ, the ETA for the UA is 20 March. No ETA for the TWA. I *really* want the TWA but I don't even know yet where I'll be living and won't until sometime in March. I guess I could buy one from ARD and actually pick it up given I'll be living there.

Jet-X did some nice releases in the past. The UA's, Continentals, Ansett, I think JAL and ANA. I have 2 UA's (blue and black titles) and the black meatball Continental. I think I also have the JAL, ANA, and now that I think of it the Korean! Was down in the basement yesterday and counted 36 extra large Rubermaid containers of 1:200, excluding a room with shelving where others are stored. I need to go through them and label what is inside and post a manifest on each one so I know what is where, although I have a pretty good idea. I do have an overall list, but it doesn't indicate where they are.

Will probably add both when released. I just found the G200 Delta Wavy Gravy 727-200 that I somehow missed. Surprised to find one left at a retailer at release price! I have another one that was released by another mfg., but really like the G200 727-200.

Agreed, Jet-X did some wonderful releases back in the day. When I was collecting, I had all of the Braniff, both COs (not including Micronesia), two ANAs, both Northwest, and both UAs. I had the majority of the GJ releases, too. My collection consisted mostly of 747s, followed by 727s. I will always have a fondness for the 727 as it is the first aircraft I saw up-close in person and the first aircraft I flew on.

Hoping for a Gemini Southwest mustard. JCW already announced and preordered the twin stripe, no?

...nice KLM4me! Are you not collecting anymore (still have some planes not buying other or out altogether)? I just checked and have the NWO 727 and Braniff Red 727 also.

Yeah, that twin stripe TWA will be popular! I sold my G200 MD-80 TWA twin stripes to a fellow collector here on DA.C as I have it in the Gemini250 version. Not a flown on, so I let it go as the Twin Globe from the 60s and 70s is more in my collecting criteria. I'll probably regret it down the road and pay double what I sold it for to get one back!

I sold off my collection and stopped collecting several years ago. I have one model and that's a GJ 1:400 Virgin B789 that was gifted to me by Virgin. I won't let that go.

As much as I enjoyed collecting it seemed like a rather lonely hobby to me. I had no local friends who collected and this was the only place I could come to, to share. And when I'd share photos of my latest purchases, others would criticize the model's(s') faults which took away from some of the joy. I've learned to develop a thicker skin since then and not take stuff like that personally.

That was a nice gift by Virgin and a nice model. I hear ya! The hobby can be weird that way and I go back and forth whether to keep collecting, sell off everything as I did with my 1:400s when I thought I was getting totally out of it. I held back a couple hundred or so, but then sold half of those off when eyesight started to suffer a bit. Then I decided I would stay in it and keep my 1:200s before selling those off.

Yeah, thicker skin helps sometimes and I guess I am guilty at times of spouting off in a negative way, though been trying to be a little kinder and hold my tongue. Humor also helps. After all, this is a hobby and should be enjoyed, not something that causes stress! Well maybe one day you will get back into it. I didn't get back into it until mid 90's after a 15 year period of enjoying other interests/hobbies.

Good luck with your move.
