Thanks for the link. Loads of possibilities on this one.
See ARD have a US Air listed as well.

THY and Iberia come to mind.

But guess it'll be a long wait for my namesake....

InFlight also announced a BALAIR A310 in delivery colours!
I just hope the position (printing) of the cheatline is correct on this one.

Indeed, Ansett Australia all liveries, Eastwest Australia and if you go to this website

(click here on the link)---> Fokker F28 & Fokker 100 Australia

then click on rego VH-FKG you will see an An Air France F28 barcode livery with VH-FKG rego! I want one of those please Vector 1! As well as everthing else on this page. Creating this F28 new tooling is a license to print money.

Congratulations Inflight200 you will get your tooling cost back very fast!

Great work!

+1. Indeed great news! Have been waiting so long for this model, I decided to make my own in 2018, luckily in a different livery. Together with the upcoming Herpa KLM Cutyhopper F-70 a great start of the new year.

I think LTU and Iberia would be very, very nice releases.

NLM Cityhopper is kind of a childhood remembrance to me, so one my most desired Fokker 28s is already in the pipeline.

Excellent news & a long time coming. Had thought Herpa would be the one doing the F.28 after having released the Fokker 70/100.
Hopefully, InFlight will do it justice.

Bear in mind the models so far announced are Mk 4000s and that LTU, Iberia & Martinair, all flew the Mk.1000. For info, the 1/200
scale differences are as follows…

Mk.4000 Length 14.8cm Span 12.53cm
Mk.1000 Length 13.7cm Span 11.8cm

There was also the Mk 2000 with longer fuselage & shorter wing. The Mk.3000 had the shorter fuselage & longer wing. The Mk.6000
had longer fuselage, a longer wing with leading edge slats. Later a/c had engine exhaust/silencers fitted.

I hope InFlight don’t do like their Comet and go with a one size for all policy!

As for the price, seems to be the going rate nowadays. I had been thinking of a 3D printed model which actually cost about the
same and would need a lot of work getting it anywhere near a die-cast model finish.

PS. Air Anglia G-JCWW would get my vote. Argosy

€60.00 over here. As far as I recall, it’s about the same retail price (or even cheaper, if I remember correctly) than Gemini‘s KLM Fokker 70 a while back... so, no big deal, I’d say.

Sure, one has to keep in mind that one F28 isn’t equal to another F28 version. It’s just about the start of a new line, so wishes are coming.

Even if there was only 1 meter of difference in fuselage length, I’d make that difference and not accept ‘one size for all’ policy. You can do that with basecaps but it is obsolete with scale models since Schabak’s 1/600 models have vanished.

Fantastic news and a great start of the new year! I love the NLM livery. Build it in 1/144 last year https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...n-1-144-a.html
Indeed, lets hope they have the fuselage lengths of the different version right. In that case the other holy grail would be the Martinair F28!

cheers, VJ

Thank you Argosy for this post, that's exactly what I was about to write, if you add the Fokker 70s and 100s which may look very similar but different and came later, you have something which is much more complicated and confusing than the story of the B 707s.

Please Inflight, no compromise.

Jean Pierre.

My bet is they use the Fokker 70 body as it is minutely larger in length but if the use the same wing that will be more 'off'.

Inflight has no fokker 70 mold so I hope this one will be new from skratch. But as Argosy said, maybe they will go for the "one size fits all" policy.... fingers crossed!

Unfortunately it is PH-BBV. It flew only in 1978 for NLM.
Probably more Inflight NLM F-28's in the future.....

Anyway nice to see the F-28 in 1:200.

Very cool! But PLEASE don't tell me that the USAir is going to be white like the image. I'd love to add it to my collection.

Anyone happen to know if there are any sample pics of this new mold out there somewhere? I haven't been able to find any, and I'm debating over whether or not to pull the trigger on a pre-order.

Thats for sure a thing Caravelle10B3! NLM Cityhopper (later KLM Cityhopper) flew from 1978 until 1996 with a constant fleet of 4 F28-4000's: PH-CHB, D, F and I. The latter crashed in 1981 and was replaced with PH-CHN (the only one that is still alive today as an instruction airframe). PH-BBV and PH-SIX were just factory aircraft that flew for less than one year for NLM, awaiting the delivery of their own aircraft.

The other thing that worries me is the fuselage length as depicted in the only image that has been released by Inflight. It looks like a mark-4000, but there is something incorrect with the proportions. Lets have a look:

It is the same fuselage as a mark-1000, but with more windows painted. That looks like a silly trick. The aircraft depicted does not have the fuselage extension of 1.45 meter in front and 0.76 meter behind the wing.
So, lets hope Inflight will have that detail correct in the final mould.
As for the wings, because there you have the real difference between the F28 of the first generation and the next generation F28 mark-70 and mark-100, as the Fokker F70 and F100 are officially called. Besides newer and larger engines, the last Fokkers have a complete new supercritical wing design with more span.

Fingers crossed!
cheers, VJ

I would put ZERO stock in the proportions depicted in any renderings that the manufacturers put out there. They are just pictures to illustrate upcoming releases. I would be a little bit concerned if there were glaring faults in how the livery is presented in the picture (e.g. the USAir F-28 having a white fuselage when it should actually be light gray), but I still wouldn't worry too much until we see photos of the actual production model. I'm extremely excited to see a manufacturer do a 1:200 F-28, even though I mainly focus on 1:400, so I'm very eager to see how Inflight's mold stacks up. It wouldn't surprise me if Inflight doesn't get the proportions quite right, but I'm certainly hoping that they will.

yes, I asked Inflight factory manager on the phone last month about the F-28 delay. I was told that it was due to factory worker shortage which is now resolved, supposedly the molds are cast and going into production in June. Lets hope this stays true..

Hey Russ.....any update on the F-28 production? Really curious to see how the mold looks and if they can correctly do the USAir release with a light gray fuselage instead of the white shown in the rendering they released over a year and a half ago.
