Nice catch.

Have seen a 1/200 Sunshine Aviation Do228 as an Alliance 200 model
from a certain German retailer. Was talk of a SATA one for the airline.

Not seen this one before. Wonder if it was a custom?

Very cool - was this 3D printed maybe? I flew on a Mayair Do228 this year so I'm thinking about how to get that created in 1:200 as well.

Do I sense a custom request may be on its way. Does any manufacturer make a Do228 in 1/200 scale?

Hi,

1:200 models you can get as I know only as a 3D model - e.g. shapeways.
You could order it also in different scales but some "handwork" is to do anyway to get the requested plane.
RUAG is providing free LUPA 1/72 models of a Do-228NG BUT import taxes and collection fee of the courier service (FedEx) have to be paid as RUAG is located in Switzerland.
RUAG is declaring the value of the model on the shipping documents with CHF 45 but is not charging the model.
Maybe this information helped for "some" Do-228 wishes.

Haha Mike - you did a fantastic job on my Mayair F50 so I figured with no 1/200 Do228 available I'd not worry about this one so much, even though it is a different livery. 1/72 and 1/40 seem to be available in resin but those are $$$. Which was why I was wondering where this Olympic one came from since OP said it was handmade, I figured it had to be 3D printed, but he has edited his post to say it was metal, so ??

There is a 3d printed one available.

Just to clarify....

The model I am refering to is a 1/200 scale metal Dornier Do228-200 that was sold by Aviation Centre Berlin as an Alliance 200 model.
It was in the Sunshine Aviation scheme, pics attached.

This Olympic could be a release by ACB that I didn't see or a custom job.

There have also been 1/200 metal Let-410s and Beech King Air 350s released by ACB using this brand.

Thanks Argosy.

That's the same make - as by the windows being silver. Think ARD also sold Alliance 200

Just found out I have seen the actual airframe/reg at Rhodes 22/07/2007 on a holiday - so should have a picture somewhere.

That makes it quite a catch.

I am very impressed, I have over 45 Olympic Airways models in diecast and maybe is the only one missing from my OA fleet, never seen this before.....O.K. the blue must be darker but can do the job......any idea where l can get one?, or just get the 3D printing and start from there.......

Regards Modestos.
