Default Qantas 99th Birthday & a New Challange

16th of November 1920 presented it challenges for Qantas starting up. The Avro 504K 1/200 scale Qantas first aircraft is so very small and presents a challenge of something so small to build, however, I hope to have at least one built by this time next year

Happy 99th Birthday Qantas

This Avro was at the beginning of a great story.

The Lockheed will be great too ...

Congratulations Steve.

Good luck Steve, the kit looks like a good start.
This is a bit off topic but is Qantas still happy with their A-380 fleet?

The kit is ultra small tweezers and magnifier glass required. In a nut shell while Airbus sold the A380 aircraft program to airlines that they would save fuel, operational cost, landing slot fees and more. Turns out, anything wrong like a RR engine failure like QF32, where it remained in Singapore for a year while the wing was rebuilt by Airbus, or any other problems with a A380 like a door being ripped off in hanger 96 on push back after service by Qantas engineers are big problems when the aircraft was actually ready for service to operate QF7 Sydney to Dallas last Friday. You just can't pull out two 747's to replace a A380 anymore if you don't have them. This incident happened last week while two other A380's were off line for refit /maintenance. Not unless you purchase two to four 787-9's to replace them.

A380's going technical are big problems. Also Qantas current CEO states that two 787-9s can fly Syd to Lax carry the same amount of pax and still be less operating cost of A380. That said Qantas has just spent a small fortune on upgrading all seats on A380's. The reason why? Qantas passengers love to fly on the A380.

Avro 504k's on a A380 wing showing scale I hope

Wow Steve, your collection is fantastic.
Thanks for the A-380 info and you’re correct, passengers love the 380. I’ve made five flights on Qantas and Air France and it is an incredible experience.
