Default NG Models' possible new moulds - a quick survey

NG released some nice stuff in 1/200, their CRJ is oustanding and so are the BIZ jets. Here are a couple of ideas for some new moulds...
Imho there are a few good moulds out there, but they unfortunately are not used as regular as they should be, compared to the amount of optional liveries there would to be released. All of the moulds offer a lot of different liveries/hybrids (maybe except the VC-10, but i think we need one decent VC-10 in 1/200) so there should be something for everybody.

Frankly I don't see NG getting into anything this large in 1:200 for a while. They seem content to stay in 1:400 and smaller 1:200's like the CRJ and bizjets. But if they do, I'd certainly love to see more 727s and 757s.

I think the market would welcome a decent 732 or DC-9. When you have the choice between accurate and inaccurate - why choose inaccurate?
When NG can keep their standard of accuracy and detail i see minimum risk for them doing bigger moulds.

I truly do not mean to sound rude, but have we not had enough of these new NG mould threads? There was a similar thread started on 9/11 with essentially the same topic, as well as on 6/8. I am all for wishlists and polls, but to keep a topic alive, I think it would be best to reply to an older thread with similar information versus repeatedly creating new inspiration threads on new moulds.

Again, please do not take this the wrong way. I thoroughly enjoy your participation on this forum and am not trying to send the wrong message, but I think it is just easier to build on an existing conversation. But in the spirit of this post, MD80 all the way!

I realized the posts but, i did not post anything there because THIS is related to 1/200 moulds and not 1/400. That is why i posted the thread in the 1/200 section.

Well, the Jc/Gemini 757 mould is one of the best moulds around, there is nothing much to improve (the 767 needs a better nose though!).

I'd rather like to see them make the CRJ 700/900.

I agree with you on the 757, I just wish they would consider updating the clunky main gear. The main gear size is too large, and not to be too picky, but the wing/fuselage join is not accurate on the leading edge. The 767 definitely needs some attention!

none of the above - if they're going to do something - do something new!

I'd like to see a DHC-6-100 - a Twin Otter - 100 series - and to be more specific - in Pilgrim Airlines colors which was the first US operator to fly the Twin Otter! My butt was in those seats many times between BDL-JFK!

I would assume that AC will come with that one sooner or later as they also have the 1/400 version in their lineup.

While I voted for the 757 since they do so many in 400 scale and obscure stuff too (Westjet leased 757?), My vote would ultimately be for a 737-300. JC has a mould but it's highly underused and I don't think GJ has put one out in ages. Would especially love one with winglets.

The choice of molds suggested have already been covered by many manufacturers.
How about:
Ilyushin 62
Twin Otter
Beech 1900
Sa 227 Metro 23
Ilyushin 18
Let 410
Saab 340
Emb 110 Bandeirante
An accurate A300/310/330/340 cockpit And what derives.

I disagree. There is always room for improvement. It's true that the Gemini 757 mould is good, but their recent releases aren't as good as the earlier ones.

I voted 757 in the poll, but I'd be happy if NG released any of the options (except the VC10, which I couldn't care less about and will never buy a model of). Would really love to see NG get serious in the 1:200 game, but honestly, they need to first make sure they aren't slipping on quality in 1:400, since quality is what they've built their brand on. There are some signs lately that quality is slipping, and if they become same as the status quo makers, then I see no point in them getting into 1:200. We need quality, not quantity.

True, there's always room for improvement, the 757 mould isn't perfect and quality has lately decreased.
Yet, its pretty much on bottom of the list of moulds that need a remake.
On top: DC-10!! (although that's likely nothing for NG).

I have the decals to make something quite interesting with a F 28 mould ...
One more opportunity to fill a gap.

When you mention the DC-10 we also could think of a MD-11. But as much as iwould see NG doing widebody models, i see them doing narrowbodies for the next months - but that's ok when they also start doing bigger jets than CRJs and BIZ Jets...although i have to say commuters are a huge market for themselves, and 1/200 is the perfect scale to represent these in an appopriate way (depending how you want to present them - for a model airport 1/400 is the better solution).

Its not their mould that is the problem its the fact that their releases are few and far between for the most part.....for example where is the NWA Bowling Shoe, TWA Twin Stripe, Delta Ron Allen, Britannia, the mould is older than history, and we still don't have these mainstay releases!

It would be nice if NG themselves could quote their opinion to all this.
To break it down on the essential: Does NG have any plans in doing more than just commuters and BIZ jets in 1/200 one day?

At the moment, it appears that ng are mainly focusing on the 1/400 market and with good reason as they currently have the best moulds with the ones they already have. Also it's worth baring in mind that ng are a fairly new startup therefore they probably only have a certain amount of money for researching and making new moulds most of which is probably going into 1/400. I do believe however they will develop some more 1/200 moulds in the future though. I'd personally like to see some fighter jets and military aircraft in 1/200.
