Default 727s with winglets x 2

Who here likes 727s? Who here likes 727s with winglets? I know the Amerijet was featured before but here it is again with a fellow winglet friend. Ironically I had a custom Zero Gravity 727 made over 10 years ago having recently sold it a few years ago at an airliner show. I was lucky enough to fly on a Delta 1:1 widget 727 with winglets back in 1988, one of 2 they had..

I love the AmeriJet 727 a lot. But I would never have one in my collection because I do not like winglets.

The ONLY aircraft that I absolutely adore with wing treatments is the Gates Learjet 25/35. That's it.

These look pretty great! I know Gemini’s mould is better, but how does this one look? I have never purchased an Inflight 727 but these winglets look pretty unique.

Still waiting for you to bust that Herpa Premium Delta widget 727 sample out, Russ. Now that might be the most coveted 1:200 model of all time... at least for those of us who know it exists... or if it even exists at all. I'll start the bidding at $800...

Delta widget 727 with winglets would be cool!

I'm with you, winglets just do not look right to me on a 727, 737 or 757.

I got the Amerijet already and am waiting for my ZeroG to arrive. I love these models so much! Both have fantastic liveries!

As far as winglets go, I tend to prefer them although they look strange on the 727. I am also not a fan of the split scimitar winglets but I like the normal blended winglets and the Max winglets. 757s look strange to me when they don't have winglets.

My personal opinion is that the Amerijet model looks great and I'm sure the ZeroG will be good too when it gets to me. My biggest issue with the IF 727 mould is the nose shape but it doesn't look that bad on my Amerijet. I also doubt GJ will ever make these liveries so it is this, a custom made one, or nothing.

It is stored up high top rack on a skid, wrapped up in heavy duty seran in the DARON warehouse. Ill take a pic of the skid when I am up there in a few weeks.

By the way, are you proud after all these years I think I finally got it right... 727s and not 727's!

I believe it was several years later than 1988 that Delta tested the winglets on the 727

You are correct, I checked back and it was summer of 1994 between Richmond and Atlanta.

Cool Re: 727s with winglets x 2

727's? Who DOESN'T like them? Arguably the coolest of airliners. At least I think so.

Winglets are super for contemporary liveries, and plain for legacy ones. Either way . . . a win-win!

Nice Crownvic! I like winglets on the 727! Didn't realize Delta had a couple. I would take one in 1:200 and would also like to see the Pan Am done!

The proper spelling is "727s."
Using an apostrophe like, "727's" implies ownership. For example: "That 727's winglets look like crap."

It looks as though the nose shape has gotten better though, or is that an optical illusion?

I'll PayPal you $20 for your time and effort if you will get it out of storage and give us pictures of the actual model. I've heard rumors of it existing for over 15 years, and I think it's time the world finally sees it.

And yes, good job not using the apostrophe!
