Default Korean 747SP

I know it's not a popular subject but I'm super excited about this release. It was actually my first plane ride. I found my old boarding passes and looked them. It was a 747SP and a Delta L-1011 were my first two flights so I was thrilled when it was announced. The flight was in 1984 and neither of the Korean 747SP's had been repainted yet.

Very cool. I wish I knew what my first airplane ride was! Given your age in your profile and the date of your first flight, I'm guessing your parents saved the boarding pass for you. That's neat.

Thanks. I didn't know it was a 747SP until I was going through some old stuff and my parents had saved the boarding passes. After that, it was pretty easy to find it. It a Seoul - Los Angeles flight that was a 747-200 except on Saturdays it was a SP and I flew on a Saturday.

Nice little plane you have there! Love the retro feel this one has. I wish I still had my first plane ticket. Really cool parents you have!!

I got this 747SP, too. I also love the old Korean color scheme very much.
I wish I would have ever flown on an 747SP, it's one of my favorite airplanes.
Great catch.

My own personal opinion is this livery on the 747SP will always the best. A nice pair if you get this one and the new Inflight200 747-200 Korean Air in this livery as well. I have been eyeing off this model as well, however, I have to say congrats to any lucky collectors getting this one. Also Korean Air models disappear faster than you can click your fingers, never to be seen again. So I have to disagree with the OP stating not "a popular subject". Nothing could be further than the truth than that. What a gem

I gotta agree, I do like this Korean retro scheme even though I have never flown them. But I will say that while it looks great here I think I like it more on the 742 than the SP.

They were your first airplane rides, so it is important. Thanks for the photos.

Not a huge fan of stubby planes like 747sp or max 7. i like the longer portions like 747-8 or a340-600.

My first ride ever was in an air france 747-100 but i was too young to remember any more details about the plane like the registration number. All i remember was how huge that thing was and even more so when yr a small 10 yr old kid...lol.. I guess it would be hard for me to find the exact one to buy.

Love it! Very colorful livery indeed. I wonder what the reason was to evolve into an all blue scheme later on. 🤔

Naw, that's crazy talk. You like the pencil look?

The 747SP is a bit extreme and I don't find it particularly aesthetically pleasing, but in general, I prefer shorter versions of airliners, when the fuselage length and wingspan are roughly equal. For instance, I like the 767-200 the best, I prefer the 777-200 over the -300, the 787-8, the A330-200, etc.

Very nice model. I certainly agree with most that Korean Air Lines old livery is excellent. I don't know what planes I flew on for the first time, but I know it was Delta to Atlanta with a transfer to Eastern on to Pensacola, Florida. They remain two of my all time favorite liveries. Long live the Widget and the Hockey Stick.
